This is going to be my first road trip in my subie, and I was wondering if you guys had any tips? Usually I change my oil, check coolant, etc? Im putting a brand new set of tires on also.
alignment, escort X50 (or 9500), pee cup, mp3s, camera... I take my laptop and watch a movie while I'm trying to fall asleep at rest stops. I also make apoint of stopping when I see a cool setting for a picture. I'm sure you know this.
of course check all the importants oil/coolant check your spare tire for air pressure make sure to have all your insurance paperwork ready/organized bring a decent small tool kit bring a camera fill your windshield washer fluid dont pretend your name is candycane on any cb radio
Sit back and enjoy the ride. Where are you headed? I like using the heated seat on low to melt away lower back fatigue.
a buddy of mine has an IS250 with heated and cooled seats...nothing feels better on the boys than cooled seats
lol thanks for the tips everyone. Im headed to Ohio to hang out with a group I usually meet up with every year. Im carvaning with a couple other Subarus actually from NC, so it should be fun! Ill definitly take pics along the way!
Thanks man , I definitly will. Its so comfortable to drive the wagon lol. Its about 10-11 hours. Im leaving at 2am probably on Thursday morning.
all the above + a tire plug kit (you can fix a tread puncture yourself safely and quickly if you screw up more than one tire) a blanket flares or glowsticks (chemsticks, whatever) some form of protection (mace, tire checker, gun, whatever, just look up the carry laws in the states you will be traveling through) a GOOD flashlight zip ties in various sizes (they hold blown hoses remarkably well, and more) roll of duct tape (no, i'm not kidding ) power inverter (to recharge or run other stuff laptop, phone charger, ipod charger, ect) medical kit (something road worthy no mini kits that fit in a pocket book) gallon of water (break-downs, over heats, wiper fluid, it's the wonder juice) SNACKS if you're caravaning a good pair of 2-way radios
