4 of us are going to Topspeed on Saturday April 12th for a mass tuning session starting at 10AM. Swing by if you want. Shoot we ought to have some sort of G2g Friday night....lol We are leaving work at around 2:30PM (maybe earlier) Friday so that puts us in the area at 8PM-9PMish. It's gonna be a fun day. Well I'm now sporting a 6 speed so power isn't gonna be a concern (like it was before but hopefully Doug will make the car hit HARD now), going to a 44mm EWG, and going from a M7 meth nozzle to a M10 meth nozzle. Gonna be a close run between me and Daniel. I hope his tranny holds up! I'm interested to see if we break the 360 hp/370 tq mark but this is another dyno and the temps will most likely be diff. However I was told that SOG's old dyno was 1% within Topspeeds. Oh well we'll see!
As long as I do not forget I will swing by, gotta see what you put down as our setup is nearly identical less the FMIC.

If you think you are going to make anywhere near the same power on topspeeds dyno you are going to be very disappointed. Matt
I'm expecting that Matt. I realize numbers are numbers. I'll get Doug to make a baseline pull and then tune the car to the best of it's ability. I want it to be a little aggressive yet safe. As far as what power numbers I make I'm basing what I make vs Daniel's. Daniel and I aren't in any type of competition but his turbo is nearly the same size as mine so we should both make within 5hp of each other.
Really? Scott told me it was within 1%. I really don't care about the numbers. It's the improvement of the powerband. I told Scott to tune my car safely and he did just that with the taper. Now that I have a backup....I hope Doug will hold the boost more to make my tq shelf more flatter. It's the before and after plots that really matter.
Bump back up. Anyone doing anything Friday night next week? From what we can tell we should be rolling in the Topspeed area around 8-8:30ish Friday night. We gonna be hungry too! There a D&B near?
The reason people doubt it is because whenever there was a dyno day at Topspeed the people who had run on both dyno's put down lower numbers on Topspeeds dyno than SOG's.
That's not entirely true. There were a number of my cars that dynoed great at TS - JohnyBoy - made more on TS's dyno than any Stg 2 WRX ever did on SoG's dyno... Siegel
Did JohnnyBoy ever run on SOGs dyno with the exact same setup? It was the same reaction at the dyno day at Batlground. How much lower was Milo's on Batlgrounds than SOG's? There were quite a few that day that ran lower numbers too. I know its different dynos so I really wouldn't try to compare numbers as much as the change from the start of the tuning to the end. I am just relaying what I have personally seen as the differences. I would expect that with a more agressive tune you'll be around 360whp on Topspeeds dyno.
I am unable to get out Friday to play but plan on being there for the tuning session. Are you gonna be the first one tuned?
Dunno as that's up to Doug. Change in time....we gonna be there starting at 10AM. Also we are gonna be there about 3 hrs earlier on Friday.
There is nothing specifically planned. I am sure we can find something to do that night. I will stop by TS after work.

i was really looking to see how he liked the ewg after the tune. ie is he making peak boost faster... i wasn't trying to revamp that ts and sog dyno are very different again. lol
Sorry guys I went off on vacation in Asheville NC Sunday so I haven't been on. I'm on a very weak wifi connection in Asheville right now but I can say the car freaking SCREAMS. It pulls harder and stronger than it ever has. SOG dyno was indeed bogus....everyone says my car pulls sooooo much harder. Doug did a STANDUP job on my car and I'm 100% happy with it. Daniel with the Evo3 16g got 333 hp and 309 tq but I'm making almost 40 more hp and tq up top. We played on the way home and I jumped him 2-3 cars very hard instantly and I was shocked as I thought he was gonna make me work for it. I'll post up the dyno sheet later. I will say this though.....Doug told me himself that I am officially the strongest stock 2.0L EJ205 with 18g that he has tuned to date as is Daniel's Evo3 16g. Doug also said the car has 380ish hp on SOG's old dyno.....I believe it 100%. Doug if you read this thanks sooooo much for your time and work. Thanks for finding my bad coil pack, for tuning Daniel and Jason, and for working out the insane weirdness of Derek's bugeye. We all appreciate your time and work 100%. Oh and Derek's car is a beast for a stock turbo car He made Jason work hard on the way home I'll post the dyno sheet later. However if you read this Doug can you post the comparsion sheet of mine and Daniel's meth maps?
Peak boost is way faster on the street than before. On the dyno it looks the same but dang it climbs so freaking fast now that it has caught me off guard a few times. I haven't driven the car since Saturday and I'm itching to get home this coming Saturday just to drive the car.
