Had to tow '06 to Dealership

This relates to my 2006 WRX with 16000 miles.

This morning on the way to work, after about 10 miles of driving, my car suddenly went into limp mode which only allows the car a top speed of 20 mph and 2000 rpm's.

I got it off the road and shut it off and it would not restart after that. I had to get it towed through Subaru Roadside Service to Subaru of Gwinnett.

SOG pulled code P0607 which relates to the throttle position sensor. They said the problem was fixed with a re flash of the ECU. No mechanical parts were replaced.

According to SOG, Subaru found an issue with a small number of cars and has developed an ECU re flash to fix the problem.

The car seems to run fine now. It does seem a little slower, but I know that can happen after you reset the ECU. The car just seemed extra laggy waiting for the boost to come on.

I love my car and up until this point have had no issues with it, I just HATE that it left me stranded. I haven't had a car leave me stranded in years.

Anyone else have any similar problems?

I haven't run into this myself, maybe COBB fixed this issue before Subaru did? *shrug*

My 03 died on me the day I bought it. I got it in Columbus and had to drive back up to atlanta to go to work and the alternator went out while I was on the highway. Luckilyit happened just outside of columbus so the stealership was able to come get me.

2002 Bugeye only seems to run better and better, never an issue (knock on wood). Maintenance has been key and an SS tune amongst other mods:naughty:

No car is perfect though. The only cars I have owned that forced me to actually sell them due to re-occurring problems were Fords (Mustangs and F 150's). After my fourth Ford Lemon, yes I suffered from brand loyalty, I got my Suby and no problems:coolugh:!

My electrical system had the hiccups one day. It was during the summer, I was running full ac and bumping my stock option subwoofer. Never happened again though. I also had some problems with my ac going out probably a few months after I got my car. But it was replaced under warranty and never had any other problems.

I hadn't heard of your problem though. Like Strayen said, maybe Cobb fixed it :)
