Thank you Veterans, past and present for fighting for this country and giving us the freedoms that we have.
Hardly. I'd say its our good relations with Saudi Arabia, relatively cheap (in a global sense) gas taxes, and abundance of oil in our own hemisphere that keep oil cheap. Iraqi occupation has secured US energy interests for the future but done nothing but drive the price of oil up. Let us all remember the veterans that fought for our freedoms. Hate the politicans that start the wars but support the fighters and all who support them back home.
correct sir, if we just went to the middle east for oil, where are all the drills? to secure, yes. to steal/take/buy/obtain/drill, NO! and thank you VETS!!!!
The drills arent there yet. It's about longterm energy security and the ability to exert control over petroleum assets in the coming decades when pressed with the increased demand from China, Brazil, and India. If the Iraqi invasion and occupation were about immediate oil consumption we'd have much cheaper oil right now.
