So I was changing my oil before leaving for FL tomorrow and noticed that the right front CV axle boot by the transmission was split. I have a 10 hour drive to south FL. Is it driveable or do I take the wifes car?

You can change the entire axle in about an hour. If not, take the wife's car.

Where is the best place to take for repair? My wife can drop it off on Saturday for replacement.

    Thanks guys.

Do it yourself...it will save you a ton of money. You can get a reman axle for like $70 and it will take about an hour to replace it.

is it the axle (green arm) or the cv axle(skinny arm)? Mine is ripped and its not a big problem as advised by my "tech." It clicks every now and then but I was told just to replace my boot with my next alignment.

if its the axle then yea, get the boot replaced before the trip.

    .
If it is clicking you are too late and need to replace it with a reamn or new axle assembly. You need to find a new tech if he gave you that advice.

There is a huge difference between your drive axles and your steering rack:)
