I just thought I would say Hi. I’m in town for the holidays visiting family. I’m moving from Cannon AFB NM to Baltimore, MD and I’m burning up some leave at my dads house. I’ll be the only 06 Suby with AK plates around here. I’m active on NASIOC under the same handle. - Justin
yeah very nice, what's been done to your taillights...I want some. i hate the stock 06 taillights...they look like some APC branded altezza crap. And definitely diggin' the sti wheels and tires.
I just swapped with someone for 04-05 tails. And replaced the amber bulb with a chrome amber bulb. Nothing major. I aslo did the JDM light trick. Its not hard to find a swap, just haunt the NASIOC regonal for sale/trade/wanted forums and leave notes on 04-05s. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=841798&page=8
Love that color, wish they offered it when I bought, though my paint is taking a beating, so maybe its better off this way! Welcome to the boards and +1 on the no spoiler!
Nice car man! I'm up in kennesaw/marietta area as well... I'm in a blue 05 sti. I think i'm the loudest STI in the area so you should hear me .
Hey Justin...I live in Kennesaw also...I used to be stationed at EAFB,AK...I really miss Anchorage. I know that you will like Baltimore also...esp. the Inner Harbor...I am from Bethesda,MD originally..See you around...I drive a CGM 06 WRX Wagon...and used to have the Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust...had to change it out....Welcome to the forums man....I was in the AF for 11 years too...what AFSC are you?. ShaneSTi is also in the AF... Mark
I miss AK also. I never thought I would. It would be nice to live up there again when I’m older. I’ve been active duty for just over four years, 2W1X1. I got hired for a full time ANG technical slot working on A-10s at Martin State Airport in Baltimore, so I Palace Chased out and I have to burn up all my terminal leave before I start up there.
Isn't 2W1X1 a Tech Controller?. I am going home from 12/9-12/17, are you going to be in MD then also?. I was up in AK from 1985-1988. I was a Dental Assistant Specialist from 1979-1990 and then I was in the VA. Army National Guard from 1993-1994 as a 31-U and then Aircraft Maintenance at Andrews AFB,MD from 1994-1995 in the DCANG. Mark
Wow, you've been around a bit. 2W1X1 is Weapon Systems. 2003-2006 at Eielson, then at Cannon for about 6 months. I’ll be leaving here the 2nd of Jan and heading up there. Driving a Uhaul with the suby on a trailer is not much fun. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1132697
Have a safe trip Justin...My friend is a SMsgt over at PACAF/SEW and I think that is his AFSC too. Mark
Sweet ride, how'd you get the circle part of your tail to be yellow? Is that the JDM trick? I've heard the term but have no idea what it is... I was a crewchief on F-16's for four years in Aviano AB, Italy. Didn't have any A-10's stationed there permanent while I was there but plenty came thru... A-10's are sweet! They didn't send you anywhere near Iraq? When the 1st gulf war was happening(right b4 I went in), they sent all of our folks to Saudi... Its my understanding we weren't welcome there this time...
Sup man. Zelda is killer. Just click the link in that post and read through the thread about the tail light thing, easy mod. The circular part isnt yellow, I guess it was the cam/lighting. That part is on with the headlights, the other two lower lights come alive under breaking. I never went to Iraq, just Afghanistan in 2004 for a bit. Loaded a lot of GBU-12's, they dropped those quite a bit over there. I enjoy the fact that I contributed to the killing of some Taliban.
GBU-12's are 2000 pounders right? Got to drop bunches of those and 500 pounders into Serbia for Operation Deny Flight... So, thats just the picture, the circle part lights up red?
nah, the 12's are 500lbs. I had a pic linked in and it changed to some weird small banner. I edited it out and put a diff pic. Yes, those light up red when the HL or driving lights are on. many examples in here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=841798 Just like this, I dont have a better pic handy of my car with the lights on. With just brakes AND lights on
I wish I could go to Afganistan for a change. This next deployment will be my third to Iraq, and if I survive it, I'll have spent over 34 months in that area.
Damn dude.. good luck. I consider myself quite lucky to have not gone over there. I almost had to go with the Cannon AFB crew.
Yeah, you could call it luck I suppose. I'd call it a better choice in branch but at least the overseas pay is pretty good. Have fun while your in town. The Atlanta crew isn't half bad.
