I was referred here by subie_guy on NASIOC.com to post my thread here: So I'm going on a business trip to Buford, GA at the Lake Lanier Islands Resort http://www.lakelanierislands.com/ for 4 days. My question to you all is... is there anything interesting to do around here? I mean, my hotel is on an island and I've never been to GA before. Is there anything worth checking out that is close? Maybe a Sonic restaurant? (I really have this thing for wanting to try one; I always see their ads on TV) Anyways, that's about it and thanks for your input. If anyone would like to meet up one night to show me how the Southeast Subie scene gets down, I would be happy to buy you dinner!
Very good town to visit. I live in Buford and am very familiar with this area. I cant believe that Sonic was actually a recommendation. YOu can get fast food anywhere. Unless there is a WRX meet there I really dont see any reason unless your in a hurry. Food is good there through so hit it up but if you want something with a bit more substance or atmosphere, I will list a few of my favorites. •*37 Main (downtown buford) If you like live music and killer food (appetizers), this is your place. http://www.37main.com/home.htm •*Skelly's Bar and Grill - If you like billiard, rednecks and karaokee music, this is your place. I know the owners here and Scott and Kelly are great people and very welcoming to newcomers. http://www.skellys.com/ • If you want to get over to the Mall of GA side of things, there are a SLEW of restaurants. Tedds Montana grill - get a buffalo burger with cheese unless lactose intolerant. 5 guys burgers and fries - burger joint loving the grease Buckhead Pizza Company - serving killer pizza cresant moon - serving breakfast all day and great dinner entrees It really depends on what you want to do. If I knew more about your person, I could tell you the best fit. Let me know when you will be down and I can get you some event details. I love this town.
The islands have alot of stuff to do actually. I dont know if youre a golfer but there are two courses there but Im under the understanding one was under renovation last I heard but the other, Pine Isle is a great course. Third Coast Grille is a good place to eat. It a few miles outside the gates. But if you must have sonic then 3225 LAWRENCEVILLE-SUWANEE RD SUWANEE, GA 30024-- (770) 614-1676 not the closest one but prob the easiest one to get to...about 15 miles down the highway.
