Depends on what you need the helmet for. Keep in mind that for autocross (SCCA) I believe the minimum is a Snell M2000 rating and for road course fun you need a Snell 2000 rating (its different than an "M" designation which is for motorcycles).

Actually its a Snell SA2000 for track days. The M in M2000 stands for motorcycle.

Chris, I would highly recommend you try a helmet on before you buy it over the net. There are a few places here in Atlanta that sell various brands -- J3 Racing, Racers Wholesale, Discovery Parts to name a few.

On that site, Ive only heard of one of those helmet brands, Shoei, so I dont know anything else about any of the other ones.

I agree with Alex, you should try them on before buying. A helmet can be extremely uncomfortable, and if you are doing lets say a 30 minute session on the track, that discomfort could tire you out and be very bad.

For Auto X, Snell 95 is still good till 2010 per Joel.

BMWCCA only does SA2000 and SA2005 so if you plan on doing a track day in the next 10 years, get one of those. :p
