i can't get the d@mn things off, got one but that's it, ratchet head keeps trying to migrate off the bolt, rounded one already, pb blaster not helping. any suggestion or anyone have an impact wrench
Are you sure you didn't strip out the bolt already and thats whats jamming it. Happened to me at the install day when I put my Konis on...
if your talking about the bolts closest to the fire wall dont use an impact to break them loose. they are nuts that are welded onto the inside of the frame. i broke one loose and payed all hell tring to get it back right. what where you installing alk?
We used a bolt puller to get the bolt out. Its specially designed to basically screw onto the bolt. I know that you probably don't have one, but the reason I posted about the camber bolt being stripped (if that in fact is what has happend and the bolt that you actully are having problems with) is because if it is already stripped, there is no more need to be "gentle" with the bolt....
Where did you get the bolt puller? We gave up and left his car up on jackstands. There are still 3 bolts to remove.

You shouldn't need to pull control arm bolts for springs... just anti-lift kits. Are these camber bolts? If the bolt is rounded you might as well just get some new eccentric bolts to replace it. I have a set of stripped bolt removers that might do the trick since it's already rounded. They ahve a spiral blade to cut into the head and help extract it. Also, as said before, always use 6 points sockets to break bolts loose, not 12s.
thanks if you have time monday could you get up with me im just trying to dremel one of them right now. i can pick you up and i'll throw you some cash for the help. dremel made a mess of one bolt. skull gimme a call at 910-733-2476 if you can help, i'll be at work until 2:30 tonight but i'll try to get to my phone. oh names joel. gimme a call oh and free fellini's pizza for you
drilling the one, using dry ice to get an impact socket over the other's , tap with hammer and aaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllright. they're turning just waiting on bobby to come hold the other end. the drilling is the only bastard now. that bolt is chewing up just about everything i can throw at it, but it's drilled about 1/2 inch inward the dry ice and impact socket idea i can not claim for myself, i have a buddy in nc who is a mac truck mechanic, he said that's pretty much standard day to day practice for him. oh ice works too just all wet
I'm killing time at my house until my dad gets back with the new glass for the front door. Right now anybody can just reach in and unlock the door, granted the security system would go off . . .
ok just so you guys know im getting somewhere, the little nuts under the dustcaps on the strut. im sure i have the same question as everyone else, why do they spin? oh so everything is off except the one bolt no you don't understand the bolts where rounded and an impact holds much tighter than a normal socket head. and yes i started out wrong by using a 12pt socket head and yes i learned my lesson and invested in some really neat impact stuff from napa, but its cool with the exception of the one bolt(which will be out soon)) everything is back on track. now im off to work. sorry i just wanted to make this a quintuple post
