So this morning I got in the car, and turned on the heater, with fresh air on, as i start to drive outta my complex, i get strong smell of gas in the cabin. I drive for a little a bit, it goes away. After going into a few stores, i get back into the car.. samething, gas smell all in the cabin. I checked the engine bay, under the car, rear of the car.. nothing, no leaks, no sprayed liquids, nothing.. It is time for my 60k so I guess i'll get that checked out when i take it in.
I think there is a TSB on the "fuel smell" issue with the older wrx's. Do a search on NASIOC. Its a common issue when it gets real cold out.
I have experienced this too...'02 WRX, also just crossed 60k miles. Im interested in the cause of this, let me know what you find out!
My car smells really bad but I've got aftermarket fuel rails and stuff so I dont think it's the typical fuel smell. It's mainly just nasty exhaust until everything gets warm, which is taking much longer in the cold weather.
Bobby, I will never forget that day at knowledge... "My car smells like gas..." "Umm, holy shi*t its leaking straight fuel" Pardon the laugh,
