Alright I know everyone has gone through this before so I am not going to beat myself up about it. I need help making some decisions. I want to go with a stage 2 setup on my bugeye that I can make about 210hp and 200+ft/lb to the wheels. I want to have somewhat of a conservative tune as I will be DD this. I have heard about open ecu. The parts and questions with the parts I want to purchase. 1. HKS- Catless dp. Can I get the CEL cleared during the tune? 2. Turbo XS0- high flow cat. If I drop this in instead of a test pipe can I avoid a CEL all together? 3. Borla Hush catback- Already purchased and installed. 4. Open ECU tune- Who is the best to go to? 5. K&N drop in box filter- Or is this a waste of cash money? Please dont bash me too much for the stupid questions. Your help will be much appreciated.
1. yes 2. maybe, more than likely no 3. --? 4. both TopSpeed and Batlground do great tuning. 5. people are split on this, i run one dont really notice a diff.
the HKS DP sucks monkey balls. the design of it completely blocks off the EWG opening, that is unless they have changed it. Go with a bellmouth design and you will be much happier.
Is this a good one to go with, add this with a High Flow cat? http://www.sakarimotorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_35_114_288&products_id=636
I would suggest the Turbo XS with the 4" bellmouth. Also you check out the Power and performance thread there is a exhaust Database and you could ask folks about their setup www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4877

Yeah, as said before, the HKS DP sucks, get a Titek or Invidia bellmouth. Get one with a cat if you're feeling green or a catless if you're cheap or just dont give a rats ass. K&N Filter is great, the filter will last longer than the car and can be easily cleaned whenever it gunks up. I'm pretty sure Batlground offers tuning/install specials if you order your DP through them. You didnt mention an up-pipe, so that should be your #1 priority, and the install is much easier if you're already pulling the turbo for a DP install. The stock axle-back is very restrictive but the rest of the exhaust isnt as bad, if you're on a budget an STI cat-back or even just the axle-back will free up some HP.
