Just recently for what seems to be no reason at all, my car starts to feel weird during heavy accelerating. After taking it easy the check engine light comes on. I check it out and the code came back as P0172, running too rich. The guy at the auto parts store suggested it probably wasn't a MAF because there would be a specific code for a malfunctioning MAF. I have checked the lines to the re-circulatory valve, they are all on nice and tight. What should I do next to figure out why my car is running rich? Could it still be the MAF? Ideally I'd like to spend the least amount of money, but I'll buy whatever I need to fix this.
Matt Ball once said, "more timing more boost" seriously though a little MAF cleaning wouldn't take a second to do and check for cracks in lines.
First I checked the stock recirculartory valve, and it was fine. Then I just cleaned the MAF and reset my ECU and i'm back to normal.
