halp plz, I has a WRX. I want a turbo gauge that looks as super clean almost stock-like possible to sit in the autometer gauge bezel. So its gotta be black background, white text, orange needle full-sweep, and be able to glow green on dim. the ONLY one i've been able to find so far even close to these is glowshift tinted 7 http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/tinted-7-color-30psi-boost-vacuum-gauge.aspx any other ones you've seen before that could match with me?
stay far away from Glowshit, if you can't afford Defi then Prosport is your only other option off top of head
oh, i forgot to mention. since I'm running a 4EAT, the other gauge in the bezel is for tranny temp and I want a matching gauge for that side...
I got one of those prosport gauges I never installed to match the green of the wrx... also got an oil pressure too. Third spot was for my wideband. both are the regular (not premium) but electric with full sweep needle.
you can use an oil temp gauge, premium series trans temp is going to be very near engine temp so the 0 to 300 range will work.
it irritates me it wouldn't be labelled as such. so I emailed Prosport about the possibility of a gauge-face marked for transmission temp.
I'm going to step out on a ledge here and say they're probably inaccurate, and don't work properly. There's a reason they're so cheap... edit: found some reviews on amazon. less than stellar. http://www.amazon.com/GlowShift-Tinted-Boost-Vacuum-Gauge/product-reviews/B000H70OU2
I had glow shifts in my 02. The boost gauge was dead on in comparison to the previous auto meter I had. Also had oil temp and it also seemed accurate. I only ran them for six months but for the money I was happy. However I'm not 100% id go with them again. Seeing as they are pretty vital I may spend a little more on my next set.
thx for sharing. Would you be unsure enough about them to spend $200 per gauge at least on something else?
My current gauge setup is ISS pro turbo that while accurate, rattles incessantly. and their tranny temp gauge never worked after swapping out module and sensor and gauge... so I think I'll give Glowshift a try. I'm more concerned about the reviews of their support than of the product...
http://www.plxdevices.com/product_info.php?id=MULTDM6 Those are really cool... but after the sensor, i'm back in the $200 range per gauge... But for the value, those are really really cool. Not overpriced at all, just out of my range....
