What: Help me install Stainless Steel Brake lines, KB shifter bushings, up/dp and do a flash on the AP once completed. Where: My House 2964 Cooper Woods Lane Loganville, GA 30052 When: Saturday Nov. 11th starting at 9:30am until... I don't have a ton of room, but invite people to come out and help. If you have something you need to install that doesn't require a flat surface, bring it out. I will supply Hotdogs and Hamburgers as well as a grill, sodas and tools. I appreciate any help I can get!!!
If I'm free that weekend I'd be more than happy to swing by and help. I still have to do my lines but hopefully I'll have them done before that.
hopefully I'm free to lend a hand...I don't live far...I'm really interested in doing the brake lines and shifter bushings in the near future....
That would mean it would have to be on Saturday the 11th, thus excluding Milo. Still, if that works for people, that would be great!
shit... i'll be at tiesto on nov 10th... i really doubt u would want me anywhere near a car the next day
Its cool Milo, as long as I can get one or two people, we should be fine. The hardest thing will probably be bleeding the breaks, just from a time standpoint.
im sure u know all these factors but to ensure that you dont run into the brake problems that i have had in the past: 1) chose a nice fluid and stick to it 2) use brand new fluid... nothing that has been sitting around for a while 3) remember to have someone filling up the reservoir at all times if u have the car up on stands and the wheels are off then the bleed shouldnt take too long... u need to do it in the following order image from scoobymods
I can come, not at 0930, but a bit later...the wife and I both work till after midnight on Fridays. Let me know if later (1:30 pm ish) would be any help at all.
I might be able to make it out (depending on my friday night). I'm pretty interested in seeing what all goes into the up install...I've had a gutted one sitting in my garage at home for about 6 months now.
I think I can make this Not sure how much help Id be, but at least I can take some photos while im there LOL
I'm thinkin I'll be able to make this as well. Would it be possible to do a front sway bar on my car if I find the cash?
Uh what would you need cash for? Cash for the front sway bar? I'm free that day and should make it around noon-ish.
Thanks for all the replies. As I said in the original post, space for actually installing anything will be limited. Something like a spring install would def. not work. I do promise that I will make it to the next big install day to help "repay" anyone who comes out to help!
Hey guys, if space is an issue, perhaps we could do this at an alternate location with a bunch of space, from the looks of it there will be a fair amount of people coming. just a thought.
I am down for whatever. I am trying to decide how much stuff to buy for this weekend. If you still plan on coming Saturday, please post back up and I will put a role call in the first post...Thanks again all! On another note, I have decided to hold off on the SS lines as I would like for others to be able to install stuff as well. Just doing the up/dp and shifter bushings should allow for some time for people to install a few items and use the garage.
I have a soccer practice at noon in Alpharetta....just found out yesterday...if we start early, since I'm pretty close, I can still help get things started atleast...unless we already have enough helpers already that I'm really not needed...let me know...
Might be a good idea to get this at the same time/location as the bushing install at PeD's? We can all meet up together and see/help on several installs! Just a thought. I think they are happening the same day/time.
He has a thread going in the drivetrain section. I believe he was going to help some people with shift bushings. I am planning on heading there after picking up my 2.5 block in Alpharetta. I have some Kartboy bushings that need an install...maybe we you two could get together and organize this and we could have a nice little get together with quite a few members there!
Sorry guys..... Haven't looked at this thread in a while.... Trying not to jack Scott's install day. We can certainly do this here at the house. I really only have the room that's in my garage (2-car) If Scott's car and Steve's car are both up on jackstands (for what I'm going to guess is a majority of the day) that's not going to leave alot of room for anyone else to get anything installed. My driveway's not flat enough to do much on it (unfortunately)... I only have 4 jackstands as well, so someone would have to bring more. I do have airtools and such (too bad I don't have a lift), some beer and a grill. Scott, I'd basically planned on trying to do the couple of bushing installs here then heading over to your place. I'm game for whatever though, my neighborhood is pretty hilly though. Scott, I'll PM you tomorrow to see what your thoughts are. Again, not trying to jack your install day. Just offered some help to a couple of members here and it seemed to snowball from there.
I can provide 2 jackstands and such. I'll be there to help with whatever. Done uppipes and downpipes and bushings n such.
The situation is the same at my house. Why don't you PM me your number and I can call you on Saturday when we finish at my place and whoever shows up at my place can head over there for the remainder?
Okay guys! Due to space limitations at both places, we will plan simultaneous installs for the morning, then move to PeDs for the afternoon. I will still buy a bunch of hamburgers, hotdogs, etc and we will plan to eat over at PeDs...
