Help turbo glowing red ??

I looked at my turbo tonight ,and it and my up glowing red, I have a dp ,catless midpipe . Is this normal? hnoes:

 

i dont think i have ever noticed mine glowing... what mods do u have?

 

yea just drove it from discovermills to peechtree ind and 285. I have a borsal dp and mid pipe.

its normal to glow after driving - especially fun driving
But depends on how long its glowing and how bright its glowing.

Its best you install an EGT to make sure nothing bad is happening.

do you have an upgraded intake ?
Overboost ? ECU upgrade ?
check to make sure boost solenoid hoses are intact - there is one little bugger runs real close to the turbo.

no i didnt tuch it, im saving up for the ecutech and tuning from SOG, and latless UP,and cat back. thanks for the info,but I got to go to work.( night shift for metro pcs) Thanks !!!!!

 

also, if it is glowing don't turn your car off for awhile. let it cool down first or else you could bake the oil in your turbo.

 

cool thanks I almost always let my car idle for 10 min after running hard, you know anyone with a cat less up pipe

i think 10 min is overkill... i usually idle my car anywhere between 1 - 2 min depending on how hard i drive... i know the turbo is watercooled but i like to pamper my car

Aside from it being part of normal to glow when run hard, unburned fuel will cause glowing under not-so-hard running. Prolly nuthin to worry about.

i've seen a few dyno runs on video where the turbo just lights up red. friggin awesome!
