ok so ive been driving around all day hanging out with friends all day before i move so i went down a few gravel roads and drive ways and hit my exhaust a few times but no problems until my gf wanted some ice cream at 4am(thank you p.m.s) anyways i get to the gas station and i notice smoke coming out of the scoop and i open the hood to find my turbo is smoking and it smells like oil or rubber smell smells more like rubber but i couldnt tell and i couldnt tell exactly where on the turbo it was from but it looked like it was on the lower side.... so i drove really slow home and now no smoke when i let it idle in the garage so im baffled as to what it could be

Do you have a heatshield on the turbo? If not, I bet $10 your power steering line touched your turbo :bigthumb:

i have the same thing going on. i have decatur subaru keeping an eye on it, but we think the turbo is actually leaking. the oil runs off the turbo onto the exhaust and burns off. so i have no oil in my garage. you just reminded me i need to bring it in to have them look at it again. it really only does it with the AC kickin' or at an auto-x. it does freak you out a little, though. if you're under warranty still have subaru clean off the inside of the heatshield and watch for any spatter coming from the turbo. bring it back after 1000 miles or so.

Check the oil line to the turbo, you're "o" ring might be spent. This may cause intermittent weaping of oil.
