Ok, I dont know where to put this but it is electrical ... at least I believe it is so i'll put it here... I was driving home today from school when all the sudden i noticed my speedometer wasnt working, I am not sure how long it had been not working but i know for a fact that it was working on my way to school this morning.... I thought "damn, well I'll turn on the speedometer thing on my navigation for now and take it to SoG tomorrow. But the navi says that it isn't getting a signal for speed... neither is the turbo timer.... Now I am at a loss, they are all connected to the speed pulse wire from the ECU... So I am left to reason that the ECU isnt sending a speed signal... what could have cause this????? OH and both the navi and tt have been installed for about 4-5 months.
Tough one.. maybe your VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is dead/damaged. Or it could be a wire shorting out somewhere... did you change *anything* in the past few days?
Yeah I was going to say it's the VSS. I assume you have a manual because if you didn't (and I believe this is what happens to autos) the overdrive wouldn't work leaving the car only three gears.
i havent changed anything... i guess ill take it to SoG tomorrow i didnt make it toady i sleep to late and have to go to work.... thanks guys.. ill keep you guys posted
well the diagnosis for now is that the speed gear in the transmission is bad. They have got to pull it apart to see but i should know by monday... lucky me im still under warrenty with only 20k miles..
Try sending a pm to xnoodlesx, he had a spedo issue when they were dynoing his car multiple times at TopSpeed.
