I know I will probably be banned or my post deleted or closed, but I thought maybe ya'll would like to hear me out.... First of all, I'm sorry for the way I came off to Alex. Everyone in my tent was like "We just heard that guy saying some crap". He was being very obvious about it. I walked over to see if I could hear them. I guess they didn't know what I looked like because I was able to stand about 6 inches away and listen to everything Alex was saying. It wasn't very nice to say the least. I asked him what he said and he said this guy with this car is always on our site talking crap and he won't even pop his hood. I said I hope you're not confusing hm with BG because he doesn't work for us and if you want to see under the hood all you have to do is ask nicely. We didn't want people taking pics of the turbo kit yet because we are going to manufacture it. We just figured if people asked us to open the hood, we would. No big deal. That way we can be in control of who looks at it and we could make sure no one took pictures yet. Alex asked to be introduced to Jason and I said he's right there why don't you introduce yourself and he did. I then popped the hood and they were able to look at the work done. Here is every post Jason has ever made and I can't find one instance of him talking crap on ya'lls forum. So I don't understand why anyone felt the need to say the things about Jason that they did. As far as I can tell, Alex must have been listening to rumors on the street because Jason is a super sweet guy. http://w.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2033 http://w.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showpost.php?p=22567&postcount=4 http://w.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showpost.php?p=22541&postcount=47 http://w.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showpost.php?p=22539&postcount=2 My tone of voice was out of hand, I agree and I apologize. I just want to state that I am a human being just like everyone else and I have feelings. No one likes to be talked about so blatently. I'm just the type to say something about it. I know that is something I need to work on and I am trying. It's hard being me and I don't expect any sympathy from any of ya'll for that. I'm just giving my explaination. Everyone is allowed to say whatever they want about us, but when we call it out is a bad thing. I just don't get it. Either way, I talked to a lot of your guys and we had good conversations. Ya'll repped really good at the meet. It's good to see that ya'll can get your peeps together the way you did. I'll apologize again for the way I came across. P.S. Jason doesn't work for us. He's a customer. For the guy who asked about the fog lights...he wasn't trying to be rude. He doesn't work for us so it's not his job to get us business or be nice to people. He was nice enough to let us use his car for our booth.
I don't think this will get you banned or deleted, as a matter of fact I don't think anyone has ever been banned from this site. Its amazing that we had BG, TS, and Sog that post on this site and we have seen none of the drama that i have seen on other sites. We are a pretty close family over here, were have our differences, but we take care of them behind closed doors. That being said welcome to wrxatlanta.
Thanks for the civil explanation Tracy. There’s no reason to lock or delete your thread as you were just explaining your half of the story. The whole thing to me was that somehow we (wrxatl) seemed to be getting dragged into the whole shop war thing. None of us that I know of have any real reason to be mad your shop. Lastly about Jason maybe they meant IA not here. As you stated, he has been pleasant here. So has matt. Both seem to be all right guys. It’s all about the suby guys all getting along as we have great love for our cars as im sure they do also. With that said I hope to see more of yalls work in the future. Next time im out ill be sure to introduce myself. Im going to southern fried @ turner field. So ill see yall there and at nopi im sure. p.s. welcome to the club! JT
Well thanks for the understanding. Like I said, I'm only human. I'm on the defence a lot since everyone always has something to say about us. I really am trying to curve my attitude. I'm Puertorican and Italian...not a good mix for the temper. I'm not used to being in the spot-light so much. My life is like a tabloid!!! I just want to go back to being me and having friends that understand me so I don't have to explain myself anymore. You know, every experience that you have makes you who you are....and I have had my fair share of experiences in life that make me who I am. I'm not used to being a business owner. I just know that my man builds fast cars and that brings the haters. I'm the oldest of 10 and I feel the need to protect my "babies" I'm honestly working on the way I say things. I know that it's not always what I am saying, it's how I'm saying it.
hey tracy i am Brian (the guy that spoke with you for a while at the bar)......i totally agree with you guys and i think you are a very cool and nice person. The problem today like we briefly discussed is that people get thoughts in there head from jumping to conclusions or listening to jerks about things. I personally have almost completly removed myself from IA due to the incompetance(sp?) of people on there. The people on here are very family oriented and we are guys who for the most part as a whoile do not like to brag and just enjoy hanging out nad having fun. I personally have been to topspeed 1 time tray and doug were nice guys and i was happy with the shop. I had not met you yet though and i will tell you that you are a good person who is honest about there shop and back it up 100% just like the guys @topspeed. I can assure you i will use yall as well. I base my purchases on how the personalities on the people running it are and i am satisfied with both shops. I dont htink there should be a giant battle between both shops and i think everyone runs there stuff differently. Now when you do have business with competitors change is key nad yes you do technically battle them but not like what those idiots on IA are calling for. I just hope all this drama dies down a lilttle bit its like being in high school again ya know? and it seems almost unavoidable. Anywayz i will be behind ya as a shop recomendation.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to meet you. I'm trying to not make this about TS. I'm tired of them being mentioned in the same stuff with us all the time. That's where the confusion starts. I'd rather just keep it as we are BG and we either F*cked up or we rule. I'm tired of being compared to other shops regardless of who it is. For the record, this has happened before with other shops...not just with TS. We've been doing this almost 5 years now. We came out of the gate with a fast a** Supra (our very first year!). It's a lot of publicity for whoever to start a fight with us. Customers instinctively start getting curious about the shop fighting with BG. It seems like a pubicity stunt to start a fight with us. We're small. I had 3 people today who called and said things like..."a big shop like yours". It's very flattering that our percieved value is so big, but we have 1 full time tech and 2 lifts.
at the very least mad respect :bigthumb: for taking the time out to set the record straight on your shop...
Lets not take this where it doesn't have to go. When I said this, I'm pretty sure that it was implied that "it feels like people start fights with us as a publicity stunt" If it didn't come across that way...that's what I meant. Now do you se what I mean. Everything I say is looked at through a microscope and torn to bits. I just have to learn how to deal with that, I guess
I didnt mean to start anything, its just that it seem like your are coming off cocky. That's not a bad thing, it just shows that you are proud of your work. Just remember that there are a lot of us that like TS and other shops, we just don't get caught up in the "tuners battle". Here is a perfect example: http://www.wrxatl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2549 you have 2 tuners here helping each other out
Remember, you don't always hear the good stuff We also have alot of tuner shop friends. We get along with most of the local shops now a days. It was hard when we first came out because we were the new kids and people thought we got lucky with our Supra. We jut had to prove ourselves and I'm glad that we got that chance. Now things are just crazy. Sometimes I wish I could just go back to the days before we had a shop. Not that I don't love the cars...it's just a very competitive field and it's very fickle. At any time any one can take a shot at you. We are lucky that we can pool advice from all over the country on all types of cars. We got to meet a lot of big time pro racers when we used to race the Supra. They're a lot cooler. It seems like they actually understand when I talk to them about things like this. Unfortunately they can't kick anyone's assfor me because they live in different states . It's so cool to travel to SEMA..across the country and see like 200 people that you know (and wierd all at the same time..you're like a million miles away from home and still know everyone). It's also cool that we remain friends with them although we competed against a lot of them. Like Titan Motorsports, they used to be our biggest competitor in the Street Tire class, but they always gave us advice and a great deal on our parts. To this day they try to get us back out there racing our Supra. We just can't afford it right now. Either way, I'm not trying to be cocky. I'm just trying to give you a little insight into my life...if anyone cares. If you don't then it doesn't really matter. This is the internet and I'm bored.
Yo Tracy, Welcome to the local hangout this place is like home. Generally nothing in here becomes "about" anybody. We all just like to hang out, get together, ask and answer questions, etc. I understand you wanting to come in and say hello and explain yourself, and we appreciate that. Like I said, normally we all just chat on here... (it is funny to see who's watching though ) Good to have you, SS
so do you guys do brake stuff?.....rotors,pads all that jazz.....or just mainly performance and engine upgrades?
we do everything. The only problem lately is that we have 1 full time tech and we have to make appointments like 2 or so weeks in advance (depending on what the job is)..
First off please allow me to reintroduce myself. Its apparent that neither of us got off on the right foot. As you may have figured out, I'm Alex the Founder and Adminstrator of/for WRXatlanta.com--The Atlanta Subaru Owners Club. This is a friendly enviorment and I would like welcome you to our site. I hope you find your stay here as enjoyable as many of our members do. No worries, as this is not our policy on how we deal with our members. I feel that everyone, including yourself, has the right to know what sparked our interest in Jason_STi. He has been a member of our community since 1/24. He began posting once a member of our site approached him after reading his commentary on IA in June (6/23). Please note, these were posted on IA (here ) and these quotes are not taken out of context but rather repdroduced in the order they were written. When we (the moderators and admins) came across this thread we were shocked. We have made all attempts to keep our reputation amongst the Subaru (and import) community here in Atlanta clean and supportive. I am quite sure you can understand our interest. A member of WRXatlanta contacted Jason_STi via PM on IA: I realize the accuracy of these conversations may not appear genuine, but I assure you they are. It is for this reason that I found the most recent thread on IA somewhat curious. Of course I wanted to meet him. I felt that it was quite important that I introduced myself to him in an attempt to erase his suspicions regarding the attitude of some of our members. This comment from a IA user was rather surprising... I do hope that this sheds some light into the confusion regarding our initial impressions of Jason. Regarding Sunday, I have nothing more to say other than that as a representative of the Subaru (and import) scene within Atlanta I attempt to handle all introductions, meetings, etc with an sense of professionalism. We are a family here, the opinions of our members are very much so a refelction of each of their indivdualities. No matter what a member here says, we respect that, right or wrong as their opinion. A member who posts outside of our forums is a representative of WRXatlanta, despite their opinion. As I have stated earlier, all of us have worked very hard to give Subaru owners (and the general import) community the most reputable name it deserves. The overwhelming postive response from similar clubs, shops, and dealerships lets us know that we are trying our hardest to move into the right direction. Regardless, as the Administrator and Founder of this website and community I feel that it is imperative that regardless of the sitatuation it must be dealt with respect, professionalism and understanding. Once again welcome to WRXatlanta, it is pleasing to see that you are receiving a warm welcome already. Our members are open minded and always treat each other as they themselves wish to be treated. Let us put this matter behind us and move towards a more positive relationship between the employees and cusomters of Batlground Engineering and the members of WRXatlanta.
OK Glad that we were able to get all of this out of the way. I understand where you are comming from and I respect that! Ijust hope that in the future everyone can be adults about certain situations. I know I'm going to try harder. Just so everyone knows...Dan is the owner of BG. He rarely posts anywhere since he works on cars 8 hours a day...I am co-owner. Depite popular belief, I have been dating him for many years (before we opened this shop...ask Scott, he knew us then Dan went to Tech with Scott and is a Chemical Engineer..or has the degree anyways) and am not "just along for the ride" as I saw posted in some forum (not here). Brandon is our only full time tech and has been for almost 2.5 years. He also does not post often..becuase he is not allowed during business hours. Other than that, we ocasionally have part time help...we are hoping that one of the part-timers will work out for a full time position. We just haven't been able to find anyone good. Other than those mentioned...we have no other employees. I hope this clears up some confusion about who is actually an employee of ours. I can't be repoinsible for our customers...only myself and I am trying to make things better right now.
No comment.. Other than childish immature, and stupid. People know how to act, know how to be better than that, and people who dont show class and restraint are not the type of people I look to hang with.. Im very glad I did not go to witness this middle school class act. I have read all of this stuff, not said a thing, now it spills over here. I have been in the ATL for a long time with the scene, and these things are the type of things that make me sick of it and the resulting people who dont have the class to otherwise avoid it. Cant go to NP without shit, cant go to carshows without shit, cant go to internet forums without people doggin and talking about an entire group of people, like bigots over a car shop. Very Nice... THANKS FOR EVERYONES CONTRIBUTION TO "THE SCENE!!!" :ugh: For those that this applies for understand thats jus how I am. For those that it does not thank you for being civil and understanding. Jason.
i agree genya you are right man this drama stuff does need to stop. If its gonna happen leave it on IA, i dont htink we should have it on here.
I see said the blind man I feel that everyone, including yourself, has the right to know what sparked our interest in Jason_STi. He has been a member of our community since 1/24. He began posting once a member of our site approached him after reading his commentary on IA in June (6/23). I just wanted to clear this statement up, I havent had any problems with anyone from WRXATL, I had a rather good time when we all met up at the dragstrip. I am normally more friendly and talkative than I was that night. I was breaking in the trannsmission and I was very focused on making sure everything was ok. My schedule is extremely busy otherwise I would show up at more of the g2g stuff. I currently have 3 subdivisions that I'm developing so when I do have free time its either being spent with my fiance or working on one of the three project cars I have going. Anyways, please dont think that because I dont come hang out, that I dont want to. Matt
Great post tracy! I'm glad to see you come on here and handel your business with class and respect. Top notch indeed!
I got to agree with Genya (Jason) 100% also. All this drama has done nothing but take the fun out of the whole car scene for me and lot of my friends. I have wanted it to stop for months now! I am really happy we have the wrxatl guys here in Atlanta to hang out with. I truly do appreciate eveyone of your friendships. I think everyone of you have riden in my car at least once lol. You guys have never been anything but cool. Hell one of the guys on here even went through the prison I used to work. And if you ever been on either side of that crap hole you would remember it. So obviously we were on two extremes of a tough situation but I think highly of him and he is a great guy and my friend. People sometimes forget that I am a customer and do not work for anyone here in Atlanta. I support my friends. I supported Porter when he was at SOG. When he left for classic I supported him there. Even did a commercial for each! lol When he joined topspeed I supported him there too. I support WRXATL all the time by telling people about this place. Alex does a heck of a job running it. I just won't let anymore stickers be put on my car lol Thank god this place is a haven for all of us. Let's keep it that way Dan
well put Dan, i think we are a strong group of people and having people like Tracy appologize to us really shows that. That shows a lot to go from a misunderstanding to working it out like an ADULT. thanks Tracy! and thanks guys for keepin it cool on here.
i better get in on this! i havent either!j/k dan Believe me Dan it is a haven for us all to act civil. And im glad that has not been broken. Cant we all just get along!!! bury the hatchet already! Lol *hint hint*
I am truly glad that everything has been settled and I hope that it STAYS that way. Can't we all just get along?.LOL....Let's all be civilized adults and have a friendly competition every once in a while w/o drama... I am sorry that this happened on Sunday and it hurts me bad inside to see stuff like this happening. I hope that everything truly gets reconciled and that it never occurs again. Tracy, thanks for the nice apology and it is good to have you as a member...Now you just need to get a WRX or an STi. I know that nobody likes being talked to in a bad tone or disrepected and I know that I would personally be furious... but in the long run, we must move on and get on with our lives. I just hope that the bashing and so forth will eventually stop on IA and when it does, I will start getting back on there. It has hurt me very much and that is why I am writing this long post. For those of you that agree, thanks, and for those who don't agree, move on to another forum. I think if people keep 2 things in mind, life would be much easier...COMMON COURTESY and RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER. I know that you have to gain people's respect, but at least be civil and mature like Jason (Genya) was saying. I am very proud to be a WRX Atlantan and give mad props to all the members. I wish that one day that there will be more cohesiveness between the clubs and garages too. Being a miltary veteran of 13 years has taught me that you just have to bite your tongue and think before you speak. I don't mean putting your tail between your legs, but getting to the root of the issues and being civilized adults and talking it over w/out all the drama!!. Those are my 2 cents and maybe it will sink in. I wish the very best to all and may no more squabbles happen or I will sick R.Lee Ermey of Mail Call on you!!!.LOL....Another tid-bit of info...How about a g2g with all of the different shops...like a cook-out or something?. I am sure it may not happen, but at least maybe give it a try...Keep the loyalty and represent WRXATL!!!. By the way... the t-shirts rock....Great Pics at SELOC too... Take Care, Mark
I am hoping that things will work out for the best.... It really is disturbing when things like this happen. Just my 2 cents... Mark
tracy: sorry to chime on this so late since i just got back from puerto rico... i heard about the events at SELOC from alex and it really bothered me... i would have had a very bad impression about BG if i hadn't stumbled upon this thread.... im sure a lot of people have already posted similar comments but i will repeat them regardless... thanks for coming on here and trying to sort things out... u will see we are a very friendly group... at the same time, alex, myself and all the moderators work hard to maintain a friendly atmosphere on this site... that being said, no sort of flaming, bashing, etc. is tolerated on WRXatlanta and based on its severity, may result in an immediate ban... do not be offended since im not directing this towards u directly but to anyone who may disrupt the peace on this board... hopefully friendly behavior like we encourage here will extend beyond WRXatlanta and will exist in the atlanta import community if u have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to PM me... and welcome to WRXatlanta
