We've been busting our ass on my car for the last week or so, and I just wanted to give a huge thanks to the following people. These are the people that make this community worthwhile, and I can't give enough praise to these people for their help, their knowledge, or their willingness to give up their time or car parts to help get my car back on the road.

    Kingwrex (Stephen)
    pEd (Ped)
    420 (Jason)
    Wagunz_pwn (Cohen)
    Jason (Jason)
    Jeb (Jason)
Breel (Brian) - good call w/ the plugs
    oneiguy (Shaun)
    Sparta (Dana)
    Slowwrx (Matt)
    Techlord (Rick)
    Ball Engine (David and Andrew)
    Batlground (Dan and Brandon)

There are other vendors who have helped me out that I would like to thank, as well as my roommates for letting me destroy our garage. Thanks Cohen for setting my garage on fire. I'll post more in my journal along with pics, but I just wanted to give a shout out to these guys.

Btw - motor is SOOO close...dropping in tomorrow (hopefully). 500 HP, here I come

Sweet. Gonna break it in on the dyno or do the old fashioned drive for 1000 miles?

    break that bitch in hard.

    both

We finished everything under the car today so nobody has to crawl up under there anymore except to bolt the DP to the catback.

Nothing on the top's on...so tomorrow will be fuel system (new bosch 1000cc :dirty:), ac, harness, intake, timing, radiator and turbo kit. Next move's up to King as he's going to help with timing, then it's off to BG for the AEM install / tune. I'm going to run both the stock ECU and AEM so I can switch harnesses and pass emissions.

I'm pretty surprised the clutch isn't stiffer...I'm sure it's going to take some getting used to, but to just push it in it's not too much stiffer than stock (ACT 6 puck sprung w/ ACT HD pressure plate). I'm sure I'll be saying something different the first time I'm stuck in Atlanta traffic, though.

Be careful breaking in the setup in a new area for yourself. Dragon is fun, be safe and you'll have a great time.

I honestly dont think the dragon is the right place to break your car in.

the rings are already sealed in, the only thing i'm breaking in is the new setup / clutch

How do you break in new rings to a new cyclinder wall outside of a motor?

Thanks Matt. Now the rest of the puzzle.....which 'side' did the crack start at? Is it cracking downwards towards the bend or the other way around? That make sense?

  31. slowwrx

    slowwrx Supporting Member

crack started at the top of the pickup and worked its way down.

Thanks Matt. 99% of every one of these start in this manner. Sending analysis to SoA. They've got to jig this thing better.

but the simple solution is Killerb ;)
