How much of a difference is there between a High Flow Cat versus a non catted pipe? 3inches. Specifically for me, I'm asking about the midpipe. (Connects with a shorty downpipe (catless dp).
you mean like the TXS stealthback? I've got one of those with a high-flow cat. I love it, but i can't tell you if there's a performance difference.
Minimal, especially in the midpipe. There is a small difference, but if you want a cat for any reason, it's well worth the like 5 hp you might lose.
I've heard the same 5hp loss by having a highflow. Really its about keeping one cat in the system for the environment and the cleanliness of your rear bumber. I am on the same track as you with the high flow midpipe. Its very tempting though with the highflows being so expensive and the racepipe being like 200 less.
The difference is miminal, the smell of fuel will be less with the hi-flow. As Clemson said, the main deterrent for most people isnt the enviormental concern, rather, the price.
so like i bought the helix catless to evo2 exhaust off of john ra....its not going to throw flames is it?lol i hear the evo2 is one of the quietest and that is why i got it from him. my srt is already loud enough.*sigh*
Most likely not, esp without tuning. I have a full catless system that is noisy and I shoot no flames.
i'm running evo2 right now and yeah it's very quiet abt to install my up pipe and wanna see how quiet or loud it's gonna be btw i have gone high cat and yes it passed the e over all i care abt the world around me so thats one of the reason i got me a highcat over the price which i paid 400 buckz for it but it atleast makes me happy
I threw flames all the time with the catless tanabe. Nothing like pooping flames and scaring the shit out of ladies on roswell rd in volvo station wagons. Its also fuckin cool when you heel-toe it into second from a high rpm and listen to the tubo unwind as you slow down. flames happen then alot. GO CATLESS ITS GOOD TIMES!
