Is anyone here going to this event this weekend? I went last year, it was a lot of fun. Great classic/vintage/historic race cars tearing it up at Road Atlanta. Here is more info. http://www.hsrrace.com/HSR/HSRHome.nsf/weblinks/EJEN-6MBJP6?OpenDocument
No, I wish I could. I hear it's a lot of fun and there are some nice cars out there from the pics I've seen of it.
I just got back from there about 10 minutes ago. They had a test day today with Spec Miata and i was working turn 5. It was pretty quiet except for a totaled GT3 in the dip, and quite a few miata spins exiting 5. I also had 10 deer park their happy asses in the dip in the middle of a session, and not 30 minutes later, two damn turkeys walked right into the line.
I just got back and it was a blast! I'll try to see if I can upload what little amount of pics I have taken tonight. Some things I saw today: Lots of classic cars (not just Japanese). Old GT class cars from Porches to Corvettes to Elises to old Indy type cars to old NASCAR. Some noticeable cars I saw on the parade lap where spectators could drive for 30 or so minutes: Porche Carrera GT 2005 Ford GT Ariel Atom Lotus Espirt Lotus Elise Proches' of all types Super 7's Again, it was definitely a blast! If you have time Sunday to check it out it's definitely worth the 35 dollars (which includes infield parking or 25 to park outside and getting to walk) I won't be making Sunday though
Hey Matt, It sounds like you had a great time. I wish I could have been there for that show. We have a few Porsches on the base at PMRF and a few Vettes too... Mark
I ended up having to work on Saturday, so I didn't make it out, but I went today and had a great time...beer, another beautiful day, and the wonderful sound of engines ripping around the track...kill me now. The GTP mini enduro race was by far my favorite of the day. I must say though that this year was a little boring compared to last year, there was a lot more to see last year... Saw a few scoobs around, it was nice being the only bugeye at the track today! Walter Mitty = tease for Petit Le Mans... can't wait!
Not much to offer here...I didn't feel like taking my better camera, I snapped a shots with my portable. Here are a few of the keepers.
