Sounds tough. I would love to see it though! Stock motor and stock car? Or the motor in a rail or something?
With stock hp/torque at the flywheel? Possibly a rail or quad chassis like the STIatv, or throw it ia a really light car like a CRX. STIATV in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awvNFJNLPb0
it can be done, at least once before the motor / tranny pops. Delette ran a 10.86, and Matt's ran a 10.88. I think Delette actually holds the stock 2.0l record with that time...coolrex?
Sure. If the car is light enough and you have an excellent driver. A ppg dogbox would certainly help as well.
That would be interesting. Barring ridiculous shots of nitrous or other "one shot deals" that would take choice mods and an absolutely excellent driver. And lots of shredded 5 speeds. But I'm sure you know all this. I think these were 11s if I'm not mistaken. Stellar times nonetheless, but i don't think they've broken 10s yet...someone correct me if I'm wrong. It would be sweet to see someone try. *nudge*
I've ran 11.5 on stock EJ205 and stock 5 speed with motorcycle slicks. However I'm not sure on the track it was done at and how legit it was. The car actually felt slower than it was with street tires. My trick is getting the tires to spin. When you get traction it bites and bogs the car down and frankly I don't think a puny 18g can provide enough umph to get the car out of a bog. The legit time that was proven on 4 certified drag strips was the 11.7 @ 122 mph. I 100% believe a 10.99 on stock 5 speed can be done. Slap a GT30R/35R sized turbo on it, don't be scared to run boost, maybe a small shot of nitrous for the launch, and let er rip.
