Woke up this morning around 3 am to what I thought was a bomb going off on the other side of Georgia Tech Campus. Stepped outside when I heard the car alarm and saw a tree in the middle of the road in front of our neighbors. This was the first chance I got of some good shots of the carnage.

It tore down the powerlines, and split one of the posts in half! We have power, but have yet to get our cable TV back :(

Thank God I park in the management lot!

We don't think it got hit by lightning. As far as we can tell it was just the strength of the wind that blew it down. I didn't get a picture of the trunk that's still in the ground, but it's a really big tree and it snapped just at the bottom of the trunk.

We've had Georgia Power here all day redoing lines, as well as GTPD blocking off traffic since about 3:30 AM.

    pEd This ain't no Piccadilly!

At one point in high school I had a pimp-ass Lebaron....

Then a hurricane came through and knocked a tree down on it.
It was flattened WAY beyond the point of either one in the pics.

I had 1 payment left on it....

The insurance company told me that it was an act of God and there was nothing to do, which I knew
    from the beginning. It sucked.

    Glad no one was hurt.

Haha I saw the downed telephone pole late this morning, I was wondering what happened to warrant all the attention.

I saw some transformers blow up multiple times last night over in front of the Cheetah due to the same storm. (and believe it or not, I was actually across the street in the rbc building, not in the cheetah :)) There were some pretty fireworks.
