On an early 1990's Subaru legacy Sport Sedan and I would like to know how frequently the timing belt and tensioner should be replaced on an Ej22T .

    Anyone know?

If you have to ask, go ahead and replace it. I think timing belt is a 60K or 90K maintenance item but a little preventive maintenance never hurt anyone.

40-60k miles. Depends on how hard you run it

105,000 miles is the recommended service life as stated in the owners manual from SUBARU.

    Thanks all!!

I'll be picking the car up next Saturday!

I don't know why I'm so happy to get a Subaru that resembles a Corolla, but I am.
