How much is it normally to unmarry a Cobb AP1? Just curious, because I found a really good price, and I thought it was below the price of unmarrying. I am just a little worried, don't want to get scammed or anything. I was under the impression that it was 300 to unmarry...

I thought you could unmarry it for free so you can sell it.

Interesting, I didn't realize that. Are the cables for the AP specific to the AP or can they be found at radioshack?

Don't buy the AP unless its unmarried from the car. The previous owner should've done this himself before he sold it(this is a very easy process that takes about 10 minutes). Don't know how much it costs for Cobb to unmarry one if you purchased one that wasn't unmarried but I wouldn't mess with it. Considering V1's are going for as low as $350 I'd go with that if I was you.

Right, the guy said its already unmarried, but its missing the cables and software. He said he lost them during a move. Just wondering if the cables are easy to come by...

its just an OBDII -> serial cable. Search around for the Tactrix cable. I believe the new APs are USB, no clue about finding the software, I'd imagine their website would have it.

Software's downloadable from Cobb's site. You will need a cable from Cobb most likely; they are not identical to the Tactrix cable (I know that you can't use the AP cable to flash with EcuFlash for instance).

Dave at Cobb Tuning told me that if you have a married AP and you send it to them that it would cost you that relicencing fee (which is $397) to mate it to your car.
