how to beat the urge to race

so, did anyone come up with a solution on this topic? i always remind myself that i become an irresponsible person if i race on local road, but that doesnt seem to work when other people think their cars are faster and try to race you... for instance, today i ended up commiting to a race between GTI and a 240sx... this GTI came up next to me and started to whistle his stupid blow off valve at me (like 5-6 times..) and i did a good job of ignoring it for about 3 min. but then he started to floor his car and tried to get in front of me. i let him go, and he starts to weave in and out of traffic. so then at that point i decided that i should beat him down so he wont mess with other wrx's, so i pull up next to him, and when we have space, we go. of course i smoke the hell outta him, and i stop immediately. he tried to race me again, but i didnt respond.

so i get off I-85 exit 108. as you guys know there is a long stretch of road before you hit the ramps. i spot a 240sx with exhaust, cf hood, lowered, etc. of course, the dood gives me a little stare and starts to go down a ramp (I think exit 107) that leads to sugarloaf. obviously he doesnt know how to drive cuz he instantly puts his car to the inside of the turn, whereas i stayed outside and hit the apex (out in out). i was right behind him, and i see black smoke coming out of the 240. He starts to floor it, and im like, damn there are cops here sometimes, but i decide to go. i smoke him before getting to the BP, and slow down. he goes again, and i smoke him again..

i dont know why people try to challenge me in a race. However, i did find out that a lot of people think only sti is equipped with a turbo; people simply dont know wrx.

so, is there any way i can stop this urge? my parents always told me that its the young blood, but i really wanna stop being stupid and roam around local roads, being a threat to other ppl on the road. i got off with a warning on my previous 2 tickets without any points, and you would think i would learn.

man, why do i do this? but damn, it was so much fun at that moment.
