hey guys, this is my first ever write up so i am wide open to suggestions and such for correctness or accuracy!!! so i bought my 05 sti with 98k on the clock, getting bored and wanting to do something useful i decided to refresh my intercooler aluminum and sti emblem on the tmic!!! i could not justify paying 15.00 for a stencil online and i think it is pretty close:wiggle: so to start off i got some wax paper, reynolds brand and proceeded to trace out the sti logo with a sharpie (wife helping holding the paper in place). [/IMG] i used an exacto knife to cut out the logo on top of a cardboard piece of which i shaped to the tmic to lay in there for spraying no illusions here, it took three go overs to finally get the cutout clean this is before the re-spray now time to get everything prepped to be sprayed, i used just an old towel and masking tape plus the remaining cardboard i had leftover to cover everything i didnt want red.... blurry pic of the aftermath, but alas it is about perfect. nice brilliant red and no overspray at all due to me holding it down with an old screwdriver while coating it!! and for the aluminum itself for the refresh, i just used some mag wheel polish and cleaned it and she came out pretty well i think. would also love to do this again if anyone else cares to have it done, not pro quality by any means but i tried my best to take the time to take care of it best i could!!!! give me feedback guys, and i will get some better pics of the after shots list of my supplies: exacto knife, basic masking tape, cardboard box, red automotive spray paint, reynolds wrap wax paper for tracing, sharpie marker, and abit of time!!! enjoy and again feedback!!
