Just got the latest Car and Driver.... Anyone else had a chance to giggle at this concept "Mustang Beater" ??? I have always thought of hyundai as the generic honda.... I like how the author compares it to the Burger King "wopper" 300hp V-6 RWD WOW! thats a new level for hyundai is it not!?!
i think thats just the new tiburon. or whats replacing it. cuz it looks exactly like the pics someone already posted for the new tiburon
I see the vids now.... oh man!!!!!!!!!!!!!! check it!!!!!!!!!!! *wwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOP BOP BOP BOP BOP BOP (tire noise here) BOP BOP BOP POP BOP BOP BOP.....................SCRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If that thing comes to market with the rumored 300hp V6 and RWD at around $25K, they will sell the crap out of them...
Hyundai has stated that this car is not the new Tiberon, but a new model to be added to the lineup. I think the car will be good. It should sell well and be more reliable than the Mustang. I like this car a lot.
Per leftlanenews.com Hyundai officials revealed that the base car will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with up-level models being propelled by a 3.8L V6 — not the previously rumored V8 from the Genesis sedan. While official performance numbers remain unknown, Hyundai is tauting the production Genesis Coupe as the most affordable 300+ horsepower car on the market. Because Hyundai is specifically going after the Ford Mustang, look for final horsepower ratings in the 310-320 range — trumping the Mustang GT's 300 horsepower mark. A performance model with a sports suspension and Brembo brakes will also be available.
:keke:They are gonna come out with an HTI version. And with that powertrain/price they arent just targeting Ford, Nissan better watch out too.
I was thinking the same thing, if it looks anything like that look for me to pick one up as soon as it comes out. I'll take the turbo 4 as well
Its the next SRT4! I am way too full of myself to drive a Hyundai. They just copy other peoples popular popular designs and then sell a look alike for $25k.
Haha in all honesty you're probably right. And judging by the fact that it's RWD, it'll probably become the next 240 in the drifting scene a few years down the road.
If it comes in under 25K with even close to 300hp for a rwd car....I'm all over it. It looks like a lexus.
