To start off.... I bought my car last Augustish and there were no cats in the exhaust. Not a problem cause there was not a cel at the time. Just recently I fixed an exhaust leak and what happens? CEL. I was like ok I need a O2 sim cause the code was p0420. Well thanks to GTScoob I obtained said O2 Sim. Thanks again man. But none the less 85 miles later I throw another CEL. (I may have wired that thing wrong cause the directions were kind of shaky). Well then I break down and do the "mechanical fix" with the spark plug non-foulers. Clear the codes and low and behold CEL after 70 miles. Now it is crunch time cause I have to have emissions done by the 11th. Please help me out with this one. I have thought and thought and thought about what could be wrong and I am out of ideas. Thanks, Michael
indeed, get a cable and reflash software, copy the stock map, and eliminate the codes and hell if you feel like it put in a better map.
Like I said before, when I had the Perrin simulator on my car it didnt work for the first couple of weeks and then one day I looked down and the CEL was gone and never came back. Instructions were pretty vague . . . I agree with everybody else, just do a free reflash and turn off the UP/DP CEL codes.
where can you pick this up? I hope to install my turbo xs tb exh. this weekend. I got the $15 cel fix off ebay and now im concerned it wont work!hnoes:
are you sure that it is the same code? I've had the mechanical fix in my car for 3 years without a CEL.
With access port and no cats can you still pass emissions if they don't look to see if you have any cats?
They don't do a visual check. How much is that Tactrix cable and if I got it could someone show me how to use it?
