my sugar husband got me an early b-day present for our track day: http://www.schrothracing.com/products/streetlegal/1573
Man... her birthday isn't until October. This is just a present for the RR track day this weekend. It will arrive on Wednesday Her Hawk HP+ pads arrived yesterday. -- Brian
Mine was in June but it's not too late to send me a P&P'd VF34... I won't be offended that you forgot...thanks.
You don't need a harness bar for this harness: http://www.schrothracing.com/products/streetlegal/1573 It is DOT legal for use on the streets, and connects to the rear seatbelt hold points. I will take some pictures of it when it arrives on wednesday. It attaches like this: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showthread.php?p=263317&post263317 You lose the ability to use the seat behind the driver (when the harness is in use), but I see this as a much better option than than getting a harness bar. The harness quickly stows for normal use of the car. -- Brian
Let us know how that works out. I've been looking into getting harnesses and wanted a good way to do it without the bar. A review would be appreciated.
We should have a review and pictures posted on thursday And it will be on the car for the next install day if people want to sit and try it out. -- Brian
I have the same belt but with generic mounting tabs and use it when I auto-x. It works great. Check it out this Sunday if you guys want to. Did you get yours yet? Latst time I checked (earlier this week) the STi one was on national backorder. Also, most track day schools insist that you have the same harness for the driver and passanger meaning you'd need the same harness for the passanger in order to use it while having a passanger. Have fun.
I spoke to HMS motorsport, and they received the last parts for the STI quick-fit harness this Monday (had been on backorder for a while they said), so I had them ship it to me 2-day air, so it will arrive tomorrow night. As for the driver and passenger thing, we will see how it goes. I don't think that this event will be too strict, as it is run by the Redline Auto club (mostly hondas ). I didn't want to spend an extra $225 for the passenger, but we will see how it works out. -- Brian
Have fun dude! If you get bitten hard, come out to play in Oct! http://www.peachtreebmwcca.org/ptDE_default.asp
