I found a good deal on a block and I plan on starting to piece together all the parts I will need for the swap. I put a deposit on the block today and will be picking it up this weekend! I hope to do this with a minimum invetment of cash and do the labor myself. I am sure I will need a hand here and there along the way. For now I am just going to go the TD04 insta spool route until I get some more cash. I'll keep a running tab on parts and expenses for others looking to do the same swap. My goal is to get the block in first, then start saving for the gears that I am sure I will need in the future. Last comes the upgrade of the turbo. I am pretty excited about this. It is a big undertaking, but I have done engine work before. I am hoping that this will not be too much different...I built my first engine at 15 (long ago in a galaxy far far away!) for my first car. While I know that a Chevy small block v8 is a different animal I am hoping that it should be a similar process (they both have heads, intake, pistons, etc!).

    sweet..... sounds fun.

There's a sticky or thread somewhere around here with info regarding
the swap. May check it out (though you probably have already).

Yeah, curious what ended up being his issue. Waiting to hear back in his "I'm pissed" thread.

Well its my understanding that he couldnt finish part of the job and had a mechanic help him out (as in he paid him). The mechanic mucked up more than he helped and now it might be going to small claims court or something...

Right, but last I heard he took it to a dealership to finish it up for him and figure out what went wrong.
