ok, i'm not sure if i'm the retard here or if penske rental truck is , but im moving today and it's the only day i have off this week. i called penske and asked if they had a truck i could move with. my preference was to make one trip. so the "child" at the front desk asked if i could drive a manual and of course i can but that's not where the problem is. im not sure what georgia state law says on the topic but in NC it's ok for me to drive a 26000 pound truck with my liscence, the only stipulation is that it has hydrolic brakes and not airbrakes , this kid rented me a truck with airbrakes without disclosing this knowledge to me. its also 24 ' long. i got it down 75 without incedent but upon ariving in candler park i may or may not have scarred up a little bit of city property. so who's the retard, me him or both of us. oh and don't worry about me i've driven these trucks before just not in such close quarters as the streets of atl and i also like being told exactly what the vehicle i''m driving is equiped with as far as brakes go .
Just don't try to drift it and you'll be fine. But yeah, it's amazing how lenient the laws are... in Sweden you have to get licensing for all sorts of stuff (including manual transmission; if you take the test in an auto you're only allowed to drive autos until taking another test).
