No really, how do feel about this?

I don't feel about this at all, F1 has slowly become the least relevant racing in the world. Don't get me wrong the technology is great but its so costly that none of it ever seems to make it into our cars. There is virtually no passing in my opinion it is equally as boring as watching a Nascar restrictor plate race.

They should make it a death race, and hire Jason Statham to drive. I'd watch it.

take away all the electronic drivers aides, limit engine size, slick tires, manual gearbox levers, no traction control, no abs, no BS just racing.

yep, i'm just sayin' take it all away. get back to the real racing, where the driver has a lot to do with how the race is won.

they took all that away except manual gearboxes and ABS. and honestly ABS is more of a safety thing. many drivers still lock individual tires in certain turns due to constantly adjusting the F/R brake bias

how does the driver not have anything to do with how the race is won the way things are now? granted, it's a team sport so race strategy and pitting does matter. but shit, it's still the driver behind the wheel.

are you referring to a spec series? if so, watch GP2 it has exactly what you're asking for.

I agree with Matt.. I like watching the Speed World Challenge races more than F1. Stuff actually happens in those races...

no I'm not saying make it a spec series, because it already is, much like NASCAR.

 what about teams independent engine and chassis development? it's pretty evident with chassis design this year with respect to the rear of the cars. the past 2 years of F1 have actually been really good. the rules are pretty generic for the formula with lots of room for interpretation, but the problem is that the FIA is just arbitrarily changing the rules from year to year with no input from the teams. that and race stewards are usually retards with no history in racing

I'm just saying, limit the engine size and that's it. chassis, engine revs, and everything else should be open, just no electronic crap. get F1 back to what is was before ABS, trac control, auto gearboxes.
