My car idles around 500 RPMs, sometimes lower, And i am having missfire problems, this may be a stupid question but could that be cuasing it.

    Lower than 500?

500 is the mark right next to 0, and 750 is between that and 1000.

It sits between 0 and 750 so what ever that is.

are you getting the misfire trouble codes? i have heard of this problem with with some STi's and it has usually been related to injectors... replacing them fixes the problem usually.... i have no idea if the idle has anything to do it... i'll recommend u either speak to scott or doug

Yeah Scott told me about the injectors so we ent ahead and replaced to up at SOG and i picked it up yesterday and it ran awesome for a couple hours, the check engine light came back on so i reset it to see if it was by mistake, cranked it back up and it smoked like hell for a minute, then the light came back on. so i have no idea.

Did your tuner tweak the idle revs on your car at all? You car might just like to idle a little higher than stock with the mods you've got on it, thus causing the misfires.

check your coil packs make sure that there getting the correct voltage. Also do you have a grounding kit for your ride. if not i would highly suggest getting one.

i check mine from my turbo timer(hks) they make good timers and they also say ur true rpm, speed, volts, 0-60, etc
i see my rpm idle and it idles when car is cold at 1210-1240
it idles when the car is hot at 690-740
other wise i got few mods not major mods tho like
a catbak, bov, shortram, and a nice little sti oil cap :)

Make sure one end is touching ground, and then touch the other to the coil pack itself. If you havent figured it out yet, hopefully we can diagnose it at the install day.

one more peice of advice is that if you have an after market intake that is more turbulent than your stock intake it will cause idle problems and the effects may worsen with the weather. put your factory airbox on and see if that's the problem.
