Anybody wanna come out and represent WRXs at the Import Showdown? check it out I dont know if I'll be running, probably not until I get my tranny temp gauge running but I think I'll show up at least.
sounds like fun... i'll have to check my schedule and see... hopefully i'll have gauges and up/dp in by then... but i'll try to make it either way
Ill most likely be there as I am still cool with a lot of the DSM guys esp GA-DSM, and that is the track to hit if you are gonna bother, hoping for a 12.8 in the 105ish range this time, best at silver dollar was stock 13.3 at 101. If the weather is in the 70's then I think it will be cake. Let me know if anyone wants to caravan down. Jason
Thanks for the support. I know yerrow (Donnie) and Genya (Jason) real well. This is definitely a fun event. Already have a few Scubbies registered (including Genya). Also, if you've tried to get runs in at Commerce, you'll love this event. Little bit of a further drive (depending on your part of town), but we had several people at our Spring event get in 20+ runs! Hope to see you all there. BTW We're also hosting a car show/cookout/social Oct 9th in the Macon area. We're also planning a couple of caravans both Sat. and Sun with DSMers, 3Sers, and others. If you need help getting a caravan together or just want to caravan with others, let me know. Check out the site we put together for more info: http://www.importshowdown.com Oct 9th meet: http://www.importshowdown.com/carshow
Well had a great time. Got off work at 6am went home crashed for an hour then went. Lots of awesome cars, im hearing 100+ registered racers. Good Stuff. Decided to enter the RWD/AWD Class at the last second, which is a 3/4 Round Qualification Based Heads up race, fastest 8 compose the main bracket. Qualified 7th Fastest AWD/RWD ET and fell in the first round to the number 2 seed which pulled a 12.04 to my 13.00@104 ugh Hopefully come back next year when im ready to benchmark the modifications again with the new toys. Jason
Nah his AEM management was not ready for the event. I still wish I could have pulled off another tenth or so would have qualified a spot better and had a better chance to advance a round, winner ran a 12.5 in the final in his 911tt to get the win, im not sure what happened to the person I ran but he must have gotten elimanated before the finals.
Thanks for coming Jason. Acually, in the AWD/RWD class a lot of faster cars lost due to red lighting or poor reaction times. The finals, the Porsche and the DSM, we're the Number 3 and Number 5 qualifiers. Did you get to race Jonathan? Anyway, there were definitely a few WRXs came, don't know how many of them from here, Jason was the only one I recongized. Already looking forward to next year.
Sup Paul! I raced John heads up in first round qualifiying and lost 12.99 to 13.01 It was definately a good race, how did the rest of the bracket go for him?. Cant wait till next time a very fun event! Will definately be at the next one. Milo no 12's yet, need one or two more mph. Im feeling a bit missing on top end, im suspecting that I may may need to adjust my shift points lower as the VF39 drops off sharply at 5500 after 3rd due to it being unable to hold boost. Seems like on most graphs ive examined it would be best to shift around 5800rpm after third. The 60ft's are there. I will have to re-examine that after the dyno day im thinkin Jason
Jonathan got bounced out in the first round. Poor reaction time sunk him, even though his car was faster. His car wasn't running all that great, but did run a 12.76, which is slightly better than his previous best. We discovered his 1G BOV is leaking, so maybe he'll do better when he replaces it. You still need to come by and see me so we can settle up.
