last month a few people wanted to set up an install day... im finally getting around to it... lets fix it for the 10th since nopi is on the 17th... post up what u need to install on the same day my apartment complex is organising a charity car wash... $10 for a wash and the proceeds go to helping the victims of katrina... so if ur car is dirty and u need it washed u can get it done here... its for a good cause please do not speed in my neighborhood or be loud (revving, etc.) in the parking deck... so far we have had no problems at my apartment complex... but people have started complaining about a harley that parks here because he's very loud when entering and leaving the deck... i don't want any problems for us which would prevent future install days from happenning also i have to be somewhere that evening so we need to wrap up by 5pm at the latest we'll start at 9am... head count so far: 22 1ll-WRX (a bunch of stuff) [hotdogs, buns and water] Alex (bunch of stuff) BelvnAWD (FSB as well as Struts/springs) [snacks] BrianGT calmnothing (bunch of stuff) [heiniken + bacardi o] CROSSeyed (defi stuff) [wife is cooking :tasty:] Eric-GS300- (brakes) Genya (suspension on the L) j69raw (Tein hood dampers and Tein Flex) LiquidForce (alcohol injection) M-chan married04wrx miloman (steering rack bushings) [12 bubba burgers] pEd (brakes) RADON rolling_trip (fsb) SkullWRX (uppipe install as well as a few subframe braces) [drinks] SnarkBreeder socrates42 sti4u2nv (pulley & brake lines) SwampLandRex Weapon wrX (steering rack bushings) WRC-WRX [the legendary install day chilli] GTscoob (showing off the ride and ability to drive stick) maybes: JL889 lostinthewoods RamblinWRX (Keith's old catback) [gumbo] Trey WRXFan420 xjenjenx [hamburger helper]
Is there a button for "either day"? that's what mine should be, but ii voted for the 10th because it's sooner =) I think I'll save my uppipe for then just to make sure there's knowledgeable people around when i do it.
i cant make it goin to home for a football game. i guess i wont make nopi either as ill be doing the samething again.
PLEASE DO!!!!!! people installing stuff, please post what food u plan to bring along with u... people not installing stuff are welcome to bring some grub to throw down too
I'm sooo down...not sure what i'll be installing just yet.....maybe rotors and rear pads if someone has any expertise in that field?....i'm clueless and would need mad help...still have to purchase parts though...post up if willin to help a brother out :wavey:
i wish i had something to install into my car.. any suggestions for a first modd? something inexpesive... acutally, if i start doing things to my car, will it void the warranty?
Milo, count me in. I will just be chillin out and helping when needed....I will bring food also.. Mark
I don't know about what I might have to install but I'll hang out be a wrench wench or grill ho or something I might do my supra brakes then, but I won't do my spacers, I want those professionally done, I've heard horror stories about those going awry. problem with the supra brake install is that I am doing a published DIY write up with pics (I'm getting a torque converter for free out of it) I would like the car done and tuned b4 the 10th if at all possible though
I'm gonna try to go....I need to install my light pully and brake lines.....does anyone have experience with installing brake lines? I'll bring whatever there isn't enough of...food or drink. Time and place?
I'll be there. I don't have anything to install but i can bring tools, jacks, ramps and the awesome "BREAKER BAR OF JUSTICE". I can help anybody with sways or springs! I was thinking of geting one of those "pop up" tent-shade-things too, so people can hang outside without getting burned to a crisp.
I'm game, I'd love to install my coil overs and a major break overhaul: pads, fluid, lines. Hopefully I'll have a tent for us by then.
I should be able to show up. Hopefully, I'll have some brake pads to install and fluid to swap. Matt, I've got the stupid flare-nut wrenches you'll need to swap to the SS lines. I'll make sure to bring them, though I'm sure someone else will have them as well. I've also got a prototype, pressurized (low, that is), one person brake bleeder that I've got to test hnoes:
new ECU will be in on monday, so hopefully I'll have my car back in time for this. If I do, sign me up for headlight baking and rear sway bar install.
ya I know how to do brake lines, it's really simple actually, just have to know how to bleed the correct way. which is clear tubing on each bleeder to check for bubbles while foot pumped the brakes, that is the "passive" way. my hand pump was stolen when I worked at kauffman
I would alway save my stock parts incase i needed to sell my car or get warranty work done. You can always swap back out when you need to take your car in. You can always start with a sway bar. Whiteline makes a nice adjustable 25 mm sway bar. I just got one from Lisa @ SOG for about $200. Or you can buy a decent intake for about $200. I got my KnN off a naisco group buy for $200.
I can't make this after all because I forgot that I am volunteeing for the MS 150 event all weekend. I totally forgot about the dates. Mark
I will be there with the following things to install...FSB, shifter bushings (sides and rear) Spark plugs, and Koni adjustables with STi springs.... Possibly brake pads as well....
Scott, are your koni's already machined and inserted into the struts or are you planning on doing them at the install day?
put me down, i have an idea that i will be installing something, just havent decided between the two options
M-Chan is right... swaybars will be a nice handling mod u could do on a stock STi... if u want a nice boxer sound, u could always get a catback ... either way, u should come hang out at least will be at my apartment parking deck... usually we start up arund 10am... will post directions when the date approaches
I'll be there. I've got a lightweight pulley, wrx brake upgrade for my RS, shifter bushings, and steering rack bushings. Not sure what I'm gonna bring as far as food. and might be too early for liquor lol
Plan to have them prepped before the install day. Don't really think that process is something that could reasonably be accomplished at Milo's parking deck...
I will most likely come hang out. Don't have anything to install, but will help with whatever I can, hopefully won't have to work that day.
i don't have much in terms of tools... anyone who's installing, if theres a tool u need and u don't have, please post up... someone might be able to bring theirs
I'll be their, might not have any thing to install. ATTN: Jason do you know who has my craftsman 1/2" socket wrench. I left it when we installed your springs.
I like to go and chill but if anyone needs me to bring anything i could.( charcoal, wood, sitcks) extra grill
Just got my schedule for that week and I have to work Saturday so I won't be able to make this install day.
