Hello Monk: Thank you for your recent e-mail to Subaru of America, Inc. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us. Earlier this year, Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), our parent company introduced the world's first turbo diesel boxer engine for sale in European markets in the Legacy and Outback model lines. We will soon be offering diesel powered Impreza and Forester models in Europe also. Mr. Mori, FHI Chairman, has indicated that U.S. diesel models should be available States-side in the next few years. We do appreciate that you brought this interest to our attention. I have forwarded your message to our Product Planning Department as a suggestion to offer diesel Subaru WRX models in the United States and as soon as possible. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Thank you for the opportunity to be of service. Best wishes, John J. Mergen Subaru of America, Inc. next few years... but do we really want diesel as it is still more expensive than 93, does it give better milege? I know little about diesel so do excuse my noobness
full torque at 1800 RPM, better mileage, make your own fuel if you want, better engine build... the list goes on. i will jump on these like a gaggle of $10 whores when they get here.
i would love to see these... i know what kind of torque diesel trucks can make so if the same technology can be converted we could see some torque monsters!
awesome..good job monk! Subaru def needs to step up there game...diesel power and better commercials would be a great place to start. lol
Diesels have been "race" tested. One needs to look no further than Audi to see that performance and diesels go together. Audi will have a diesel supercar in the near future and the LeMans racer kick gasoline butt.
