I know there is a mountain cruise but I really need to get my motor fixed (replace piston with cracked ringland) asap. Anyone that is not going on the cruise is welcome to stop by and lend a hand or just hang out and watch. There will be a free clinic on the creative combination of swear words. I am going to start around 8 am and will be at it all day. I live in Roswell near the intersection of hwy92 and Sandy Plains, just before the Cherokee border. Pm me for an addresss if you want to come by.
I may stop by, PM me your address. I have some stuff to do tomorrow morning. Once done with that, I should be free for the remainder of the day.
I had to go to Jacksonville for work Sunday through today so I didn't work on the car any since you guys left on Saturday. I'll be at it again this Saturday if any one wants to stop by. Since my car was out of commission we ended up driving my brother in law's Mercedes S430 down. He got a speeding ticket last time we went down so I volunteered to drive the whole way. It amazing how fast that car can effortlessly cruise. I don't think a WRX could handle cruising at the speeds I was driving for very long.
Hmm, depending on when Saturday I may be able to swing by. DEpends when we get back from picking up Alex's Leggy.
I'll be starting around 10:00 am on Saturday. I figured out how to get that 14mm hex cap off. I ended up taking a 14mm bolt and welding a nut on to the end. I put the head of the bolt in to the cap and the socket on the welded on nut. That was alot cheaper than buying a whole set of tools just get a 14mm hex wrench. I wish I had thought of it last week. On Saturday I'll be swapping the piston out and rebuilding the motor but I wont drop it back in until my injectors come back from being cleaned and I get my clutch.
damn ill be driving alex to get the car so i wont be able to. i guess it all depends on when we get back.
hopefully we wont be out that long, I dont want to be trailing a car at midnight, I know you dont either.
Yay halfway done, and got the axle fixed, thanks pitch and liquid. Now to take the red car over for some suspension crud.
Z Car Atlanta - 6404 Buford Highway, Norcross, GA 770-446-1090 They usually have 240's there as well as Z's BTW: I am going to buy new head bolts and a gasket and redo the head. I went ahead and cleaned up the oil pan and reinstalled all that stuff. Should only take about an hour to redo the head now. I sure as hell don't want to pull the motor again. Well for at least not for another 25k miles
sorry i couldnt make it. i was bugging alex all day telling him it was gonna be 12 when we got home. sure enough i didnt get home til 12:30! glad you got it back together, mostly.
I have the motor put together and I should be dropping it in the car around noon. I could use a hand if anyone wants to stop by.
The motor is back in. all thats left is the downpipe and pluging in the harnesses. I would like to thank everyone who showed up today but unfortunately no one did. So all the thanks go to me I do want to thank jt, pitch, genya and jason for showing up the other 2 weeks though. the help and company were much appreciated. Dropping the motor in turns out to be a lot easier than getting a perrin inlet tube over the turbo inlet. One thing I can say is that the 20g is huge compared to my old turbo. I don't think my tranny or this block are going to last very long. I'm thinking I'll be having another install day very soon.
I didnt know it was today! I havent been on the boards since thursday Keeps us updated when that tranny goes
