    Hi,

My name is Tal and I relocted to Alpharetta about 5 months ago. I met Milo in the Petit Le Mans event and this is how I first heard about this site.
    I am 36, 3 kids, a wife and a job... :)
After buying the family van, I am now looking for MY car. The budget is 10-15K$ and my "thing" is taking the car to track days and lapping.

I race karts and I did some dirt rally with a 1998GT subaru.

I am into F1, GPL (Grand Prix Legends, do you know this computer game? - if not you should, the online racing leagues are great), and any kind of motorsports.
I am not too technical so I guess I'll need some support once I buy the car,

    thanks

    Tal

Yup bugeye it is! I bought mine for $14800 and feel I got a decent deal. the 03' supposedly got a slightly better gearset in the tranny compared to the 02, but they are still weak compared to the STI...I have seen rebuilders for sale for $9k that would be a great starting point for a car you plan on tracking. At that point you could spend the rest of the budget on upgrading the gearset and getting some goodies to boost performance!

Welcome... and agreed on the tranny...Fried my 2nd gear. But good reason for the RA I have now. But 4000rpm in 5th @ 85MPH rough on gas but still averaged 21 to FL. Bugeye for life

seems like a well built car... the turbo will be laggy though... i won't expect to see much boost under 5000 rpm...

    not sure about price

thanks Milo, and sorry for all the questions...:)
Where is a good place to tune the car?
I heard that you can have 2 maps for the management of the engine - how do you do that?
Where can you actually "drive" the car? is it only in road atlanta an tracks like that?
Once I get the car - where can I meet you guys to get some tips & tricks?

    thanks again

    Tal

Scott Siegal at Subaru of Gwinnette and Topspeed are both fantastic tuners. You'll be extremely happy with either. I wouldn't expect to get that ebay car for less than mid 20s like bobby said. Road Atlanta (north on 85) and Little Talageda (in Alabama) are both populat tracks. Plus there's the mountains to the north if you want those. I live in kennesaw, not too far from you, and I'll be happy to meet up with you if you have any questions. I know more about suspensions than power though and I'm by no means an expert but I'll contribute any knowledge I can when the time comes. There's a g2g at the hooters in kennesaw Thursday (10/26) to watch the college football game. Should be fun and a great chance for you to meet some guys. no problem man... we're all here to help :)... SkullWRX answered some of your questions... i'll try to answer the others

depends on what engine management you have... i glanced over it and i didnt notice anything about EM... if he has ECUTEK, you will have only one map until ecutek releases their new software... if its AccessPort or UTEC, u will have a lot more maps... im not sure about the standalone systems

out of all i have seen, i really like the AccessPort

dont need to have the car to meet us and hang out... keep checking the get2gether section for upcoming meets... we usally have at least a couple every month
