i got bored, threw this together id like to hear what people have to say, im going to school for this stuff... to some extent, so lay it on me postive or negative plz be honest...well not brutally :eek3: and yes that is alex's logo
i apologize about the quality, there is a limit to the size of the img, so i had to reduse the quality in photoshop so i could post
I'm flattered. I think that picture is a good start to something that could be awesome if you want a little bit more critque let me know. About my logo, I still think it needs some more work, but everyone seems to be going ape crazy over it haha
It is late and so this may or may not really be the best time to try to critique anything, but I will give it a shot. I, also, by no means have any formal art training so...for whatever that means. Personally, I think the emboss on the actual picture is too strong, I am much more a fan of fluid simplistic images as opposed to ones which are jagged or rough. When things stand out, I like them to be present but not overwhelming and distracting from the whole picture. I think the coloring of the cars is a great start to making the eye sort of bend both ways (black and white and color). I would not limit myself to try and constrict the logo text into such a small area. you have all that track space, why not use for something? Redo the logo, put your own creative spin on WRXatlanta and see what you come up with. As you can see, we have very little fan art so I am really interested to see how this turns out. I think there is a lot more you can do with the photo itself, but I will leave that to your disrection. Also, I would fool around with other backdrops rather than just the simple blue with lines. All in all, I think you have set yourself up with a great starting block to build from.
That should be our new Banner for v3. That is awesome, if only you could photoshop a 04/05 STi, and the 04/05 WRC Car into the pic as well, that would be super sweet.
thats a great idea :bigthumb: and lets make one of the leading bugeyes black... with CF wing risers and black rims...
Looks GREAT. Alex has excellent points. Maybe more cars, but definitely use that track space for something. Maybe a white STi with an SoG logo on it
in the near future, i'd like to plan a photo g2g... everyone who has photography skills can bring their cameras and those who want pics of their cars on the website can bring their cars... that way we could find a nice spot and take a bunch of cool pics one idea someone suggested to me which i thought was uber cool was to have a bunch of us park in a line in the outermost lane of 400N under the bridge right at the buckhead exit... someone could take a picture from the other side of the road wonder what the legalities are... if its illegal then u didn't read this here
They have some good linup pics here, this is what we need to do, it gives a good bit of detail on each car, as opposed to the current idea for the banner which just has small pics of everyones hood. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=745550&highlight=meet
I'll keep an eye out. There's some good lakes down in PTC with parking lots in front of them where we could line up, but its also 40 minutes south. We could always just wait until Subaru Fest at Brian's place and take a big pic of all of us in the middle of his field.
I say we do it at milo's top deck of the parking garage. The install party pics were pretty good. Just line the cars up different and there we go.....
That would probably work, I was thinking the same thing, or any parking lot for that matter, as long as we have a decent amount of space we should be good.
I'm down for this! My photo skillz are limited, but I always like to practice. Also gives me incentive to finally wax the car....
I'll take care of taking the pictures, dont you worry. We'll honestly have to get to Milos deck and see how the lighting, people who shop up, etc really want. Personally, I would like a sundown shot with the some of the trees in the background for everyone... We can do this . Faysal and I did this a long long time ago, here are some of the things we took: http://www.wrxatlanta.com/gallery/dec20 and my personal favorite parking deck shot:
