Can someone please tell me why the short ram is more expensive then the cold air? Which one should i order?
The short ram has the box around it doesnt' it? I say CAI just cause a lot of folks say SRI is a waste of money. But it's possible that K&N is good enough that their short ram isn't as useless as some.
From what I've read, if you're looking for HP gains there are very few intakes that actually give ANY improvements over stock. The few that do are CAIs. Injen maybe... As far as why one is more $$ than the other, I don't know
Yeah. They say that the Injen is the only intake that was tuned specifically for our cars, and that it is exactly the right diameter, for whatever that's worth. I say it seems to work well and looks and sounds pretty good too.
When looking at Intakes, you want to make sure that the pipe is the same diameter as the stock Airbox. If it is a different diameter, it will cause issues with the MAF. From what I have read, the Injen and the APS are the only intakes that have the same diameter. I just put an Injen on my car this past weekend. I don't notice any gains, but I haven't gotten retuned for it yet. It sounds nice though.
So what is this "cool sound" that everyone always talks about? Can you just hear the turbo spoiling or something?
well im also goin to be ordering a UP and DP also. So you guys ae saying the injen one is the one to go with?...cold or short?...thanks everyone for the replies
injen is good yes... cold, always cold, unless you are running a FMIC in which case i think you *need* to run a shorty.
We had the K&N intake on the car, and I found that it didn't provide any power increase, and got quite annoying after a few months. -- Brian
