So I have 2 of these for the new 05 STI I've read lots of threads on how to program it, but nothing seems to work. I see an aftermarket horn in the bay which leads me to believe that whoever installed the aftermarket alarm tampered with the OEM functionality, but haven't looked under the steering column yet. Can anyone confirm that this actually works? Can anyone confirm that this actually works? Right now only my unlock button works lol. I've tried like 3 different variations of what's written above that I saw on NASIOC and I didn't hear any beeps or indications....I'm stumped lol.
HAHA alright I'll try that when I get off work today. Do you think SOG will charge me for programming it if I drove down there?
i had a issue with the immobilizer chip in my key when i had my sti towed to troncalli and they re-programed both keys for free. I think the car may have had warranty at that point tho, I really can't recall.
Is this the same process for a 07 legacy?? I'm looking for a fob but I am not sure of the programming process.
i dont know if the recent years are the same, but i had to have the dealer do mine. it was about 40 bucks, they gotta connect some special doohickey to the thingamajig to program it
I didnt get an owners manual when I got my car. :wtc: I have read that some Subarus require the computer hook up. Is there another way with out taking to the dealership?
You dont need anything hooked up to program the key fob....just the immobilizer in the key. Google it if you need exact instructions.
Yea the STI didn't come with a user manual either LOL. I've tried 3 different methods and nothing works. I'm starting to think they did something when they installed that aftermarket alarm.
OK I need to buy and program a new key fob for my 2011 STI. So is it something I can do myself or not?
It took me like a gazillion tries on my wife's 05 to program the new remote.Just kept doing the same thing over and over and it finally worked.
