well for those of you that dont know im a huge kung fu fan. when i was younger wgn in chicago had kung fu sunday. thats what really got me hooked. i have over 40 movies in my collection right now but im looking for more. what im really looking for is newer movies (like with in the last 6 years or so). i like stephen chows new stuff like kung fu hustle and shaolin soccer. i ve seen crouching tiger hiden dragon, house of flying daggers, and hero but i dont really like the ratio of drama to action even though the colors and cinimatography are sick. jet li just did his last kung fu flick called fearless released this year. this is more of my style of movie. a lil history of my taste in kung fu, the crazier the charters and the effects the better. gore is a big plus also. i love jet li flix the best so far. did you know he has 30+ movies to date? i have like 25 shaw brothers films also. they are cool but there old. i think my newest one is 1982. i have some old jackie chan movies too. any suggestions?
i have seen some old jackie chain movies and from the looks of it they are the best so car, like mr.nice guy is one, and i cant remember the onces when jackie chain was not famous, u see them on usa channel sometimes or tbs.. btw i like ur collection..
see i have the super old jackie chan ones like shaolin wooden men, meals on wheels, snakeand crane arts of shaolin(1978), and the leagond of the drunken master.
If you like horrible, horrible Kung Fu I saw some great shit at "Wu Mart" in Lilburn. Movies with "Bruce Li", "Bruce Lei", and "Bruce Lii". Also, if you like gore you must have Riki-Oh (Story of Ricky). That one is so far above the rest gore-wise that it's in its own category. Also, for a less shitty flick "Dragon" (the story of Bruce Lee) is really great. Lots of very well done fight scenes, together with a pretty gripping story so your woman can sit through it.
forget chan, li, or any of the current mainstream ones. gordon lieu/lu/lew is great. shaolin master killer comes to mind. storm riders with ekin cheng you'll like dragon inn...very gory. i have a small library here at home if you wanna borrow. here's some more titles- the original drunken master with chan is very good. magnificant butcher the original zu warriors iron monkey with donnie chen is a personal favorite the duel a man called hero i'll update more when i get off my butt to go downstairs check out http://www.kungfucinema.com/index.html
i have the iron monkey , the origonal zu warriors, and the drunken master. ill haver ot check the others out thanks. oh and the websight, ive been there many times great sight. i kinda like the fakeness of the wire fu stuff he does. has anyone seen ongbak or tom yum goong? tony jaa is awesome and uses no wires in his tricks.
i diont know about wally world but best buy has a pretty good section. ive been trin to get my hands on riki oh with out ordering it. and about the gf she like kung fu too so im golden.

you don't have any of the wu tang movies?!?!?! what kind of kung fu lover are you? lord of the wu tang <--- old school The flying daggers (not the new house of flying daggers) Samurai vampire hunters (it's more kung fu then sword play) Samurai Vampire bikers from hell (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/18...2-4207854?_encoding=UTF8&s=dvd&v=glance&n=130) ^^ def worth the laughs I like sonny chiba's stuff, I mean come on he's so bad ass in street fighter he rips a guys nuts off versus isn't really a "kung fu" flick so much as just one of the greatest/most funny asian movies ever lol one line that is just classic "I was raised in yosemite national park in canada, I'll find these guys." A lot of my kung fu collection was stolen at school and due to the cost of getting it back I haven't really wanted to. I want to get my ninja/kung fu movies back this is a MUST OWN for every kung fu person "The Five Deadly Venoms" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance&n=130 if you want gore and hilarious american ninja movies are good and Dudikoff is in them lol here's a good deal on 10 sonny movies http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...7183502-4207854?_encoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=130 versus = gore fest (it's funnier in dubbed, but funny either way) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...7183502-4207854?_encoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=130 blood and gore movie Ichi the Killer, I own that, we should have a movie night with it. I've heard the Tai Chi Master (2005 I think) is really good, not the jet li version some of it is pretty bad, but great fight scenes http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...7183502-4207854?_encoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=130 legend of the liquid sword http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance&n=130 revenge of the ninja http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...2-4207854?_encoding=UTF8&n=130&s=dvd&v=glance I'm still trying to figure out the name of the ninja movie where a video game possesses this person into being an uber ninja (hilarious it was) jade dagger ninja http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance&n=130 "It opens as all movies should: clever camera work and dialogue to give us an idea as to who the characters are on screen and what they want to accomplish, in a neat and timely manner. After the director feels we know who these people are and what they want, WHAM! A crazed killer pops out of no where and takes their off heads in a fountain of blood!" half an hour of fighting before a plot kicks in hehe Bad Acting Good Kung Fu (hey at least they are honest? good ole kwoon) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...7183502-4207854?_encoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=130
eric i knew you would come through for me. just cause i dont own any wutang movies doesnt mean i havent seen them. funny you said something about ichi the killer im dling it right now. ive seen some of the others on your list but i will lookint the others thanks for the write up and links!
I know I had to give you shit about not having "teh wu tang" hehe haha you knew I'd come through, is my kung fu, zombie, samurai, ninja, gorey movie obsession that obvious?:eek3: amazon is a GREAT place to get kung fu, they drop prices on the stuff all the time (also the import versions of anime clear out for close to nothing there too, just looked under the "new & used" in the marketplace www.masupply.com <-- doesn't work had shaw bros stuff for the best prices this place has demo videos that are really good, I don't own any though http://www.superiormartialarts.com/....html&ORDER_ID=924738170&affiliate=!affiliate!
i saw you in here earlier and i figured if anyone on our board knew some stuff it would be you. you seem to know some off the wall stuff. yeah ive been looking at amazon. they have a lot of titles for pretty cheap. the only problem is i cant really tell if the cheaper ones are in english or have english subs. i know many titles have many aka's depending on where they are released. so most of the time i look for the americanized title rather than the original if i know the original title wasnt offered in english. most of the time i have to cross reference them with the sight yerrow posted to see the languages and such.
ya it's a kind of "grab bag suprise" on some amazon movies but most of the dvds have dubbing and sub titled options
Versus gets better everytime you watch it they have a non animated japanese version of tweak in the movie and a dude that gets blown apart with a .50 BMG, he keeps talking shit right until he's blown apart too, it's just hilarious.
