Question for the tech heads, is $840 a good deal on a laptop with some of these specs? Athlon Turion 64 x2 TL56 XP home 15" widescreen 512 ram Ati radeon xpress 1150 with 256mb ram 85watt hour battery wireless b/g
i tried to use it to make a comparison, but it was kinda a pain because it was wrapping up a 'mail in rebate.' x_x
From what i have seen thats a little better than I have seen. Most prices for that chipset ...etc run around 1000.
http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101612 That is mine that is for sale. Its practically new and in excellent condition. If you are interested just shoot me a PM on here.
It would be a goos idea that you make sure that its "Vista" ready. Also if you get from HP and its "Vista" ready they will upgrade it if I remeber right.
i am simply and totally uninterested in 'vista'. ;p it offers me exactly nothing for the $$ its going to charge me.
i've had 2 offers to buy people's lap tops come my way. Sorry guys, i have no cash, this would be a payment plan...
Well what are your main purposes for this notebook, Gaming? Movies? Office work? Video/Photography? Also if your going to use a payment plan, (and I hate to say this) but a slightly more powerful notebook might be in order. I just recently, (this past Christmas) got two notebooks for my mom, and sister, so if you would like, I can PM you those notebooks, and a few others. My moms was an uber-powerful notebook, and my sisters was a budget notebook.
all of the above. I wanted a dual core computer for my next investment. but actually, my original question was if this was a good price for the type of specs i listed...
its a decent price, but ive seen a few dual cores, that have geforce GO series of graphics cards, and a gig of ram for slightly more than that one.
If you can try for a core 2 duo. Its a bit faster than an Athlon at the moment. Though that is still a nice comp.
i thought intel was always faster than AMD. ;p but just never fast enough to justify the price diff. ;p ;p
