Let the fun begin..Harness is out and theres new pics So tonight i figured id start stripping the interior out of the wrx so i can put the new bulkhead harness in Ok so i didnt get very far thank you sun going down but i get off work tomorrow at 7pm and i will be at it again tomorrows goal everything out including the dash. The reason i get side tracked.......Damn toys....But my Sti seats are chilling underneath the table hopefully not for to long.
They should be on here tomorrow.....wasnt to sure how to take it out but after looking at my lovely downloaded maunal i see it shouldnt be to hard. as long as my help shows up..
Phase 2 complete Now tomorrow comes the heater core and blower motor so i can get to the harness. kinda sad im going throuhg all of this for 4 wires that i could just splice and fix. But i got to make sure its right....Also i think i need to just get a job at subaru now i know how to install transmission take out dash boards install most performance parts im getting pretty good at this stuff....
If i can get to them.....its kinda of closed off i had to fight with them cause for some strange reason Subaru dont use clips to hold wires the use very small screws that are hard as hell to get to.
yep but i have nothing but time....and i make sure all screws nuts bolts washers and so on are back in the hole they cam out of so i dont loose track of them..
looks like one of your tires may be a little low on air?? good luck on this. Too bad you're not any closer, I'm sure you'd have more than one local over to help you out.
yea the damn things flat there a big ass nail in it....guess i got it at the yard they towed my car to...yea help would be nice...after all the people i helped out around here with swaps and crap not a single person has came to help me....hmmmmmm see where im at when they need me again.... Hmmm i think i might of bite off alittle to much after todays journey.....But well see after i get the email back for my buddy at the dealership in Tampa. Seems this bulkhead harness gose alittle further outside the fire wal then i thought
yea its kinda of overwelming when i sat back and looked at it this evening. but tues im going to spend most if not all day removing the rest of the dash underparts and get ready for fri when the new harness arrives.
stripping it to use the engine and harness to build one of these: Takes the weight of the car from ~2700lbs to ~1200lbs. Will stick to s2k engine and ecu. No need for power mods yet. -- Brian
I never would of tried this but i didnt have the money to pay someone to do it so me and my one friend that help me put out heads together and broke out the Downloaded service manual and went to work. I know can do transmission, downpipes, uppipe, header, intakes, turbos, and now wire harness. Hmm maybe i should just go get a job at a dealer. hahaha
yep, it's a locost. I bet that thing is gonna be bad-ass with an s2k transplant in it. I may actually have to make it out to an auto-x for a ride in it.
I got the engine out today: http://locost7.net/images/s2k-engine-out.jpg I will be street legal, so I can bring it to a meet sometime when it is done. Thanks again to pEd for the generous use of the engine hoist. Let me know if you want it back, or would want to sell it -- Brian
that s2k looked to be in decent condition... what happend? Good luck with the wrx harness, jeez that looks hard.
More info about the s2000 on my project website that I just started: http://www.locost7.net/ The s2k was in great condition, and I bought it salvage from a guy who had spun it on a rainy day and hit the back wheel against a curb. Here are pics of the damage it substained: http://www.briangt.com/gallery/blues2k http://www.briangt.com/gallery/s2k http://www.briangt.com/gallery/s2k-chassis I found someone who wanted the empty chassis for building a caged track car. -- Brian
