If anyone else read todays slashdot, theres an article on a site called Pandora.com, if you dont know what that is, its a streaming music site that creates a station just for you, using an algorithym to find music just like what you intialy tell it.

Example... I like a lot abstract/downtempo music so i typed in Machine Drum as the artist, do the same if you like him or wanna check it out.. it then goes and finds tons of songs and begins to play through the list, showing you album covers, info, ability to download thru itunes and such. Really cool program, at first didnt think it would find anything, but now up to two hours of listening. It has found a lot other songs i have, and tons more i dont.

Also I suggest registering, theres no email verification, but does use that email as the login.

Drawbacks to this are there, but the single biggest in my opninon is lisencing, which is understandable, also i havent been able to go back and play the same song twice after listening to second song. Also you can only pass through a certain number of songs in an hour, so after you have used up your allowed skips, you gotta sit and listen.

    Enjoi.

Sounds pretty cool; I'll check it out when I get home. I always have a hard time finding anything decent to listen to other than my jazz/classical collection... not listening to the radio doesn't help either, I suppose. :)

    Totally cool. Thanks for that.

I put in "Linkin Park", it then went on to describe the basic elements that make the group unique (mild syncopation, something about vocals, etc. etc..) Really cool.

I played around with it at the beginning of the semester. The thing pulled up a bunch of bands I hadnt ever heard of. I listened through the first freebie couple of hours and then it asked me to pay.

    Very cool project.
