Well for those who don't know my car has no mufflers, just straight pipe (and I LOVE the sound). I decided while i had some money i would toss on a glass pack to tone things down just a tiny bit (since the police and parental figures don't really approve). So far i can only find glasspacks with fiberglass (that blow out fairly easily) or very expensive steel wool/ceramic packed ones. I was just curious if anyone had a source for a well priced glasspack with steel wool or ceramic material. My car has a custom exhaust so any generic 3inch glasspack should do. Thanks in advance p.s. back in atlanta to stay in 16 or so days! no more ohio, no more exams :wiggle:
The cherry bomb mufflers i have found are all fiber glass, which i have been led to believe blows out due to heat after a short time. Do you know any that use another material? Edit: There is a wrx up here in ohio that used a cherry bomb muffler but he told me it got much louder even 6 months after having it on. I'd rather like to avoid having to get a new cherry bomb every year (although they are cheap as hell!).
Have you looked into just getting a generic Flowmaster muffler welded on? On a second note, Borla has the million mile guarantee on all of their exhausts, I dont know if that pertains to the finish or the longevity of the muffler itself but it might be something to look into. I'm pretty sure that they make generic mufflers also and they have some pretty loud exhausts.
Borla makes a real simple one that might actually work. I totally didn't think of them at all for this. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll post up clips if i ever get it on (schools taking up my time for now).
