I have a 03, 36,000 miles. On the highway the tracking is bad, hard to keep it in the lane. Also notice like a slight wobble, can even feel it in the gas pedal. I am also geting alot of road noise, kinda sounds like a sewing machine. I have nitto 225/50's on the stock wheels.I thought it was just the tires but i'm thinking maybe it might be my wheel bearings. The noise did get louder after rotating the tires a couple weekes ago. The tires are wearing evenly, nothing abnormal there. What do you think it could be ?
Have you added springs since then? Also, maybe I am just missign it, what do you mean a wobble in the gas pedal?
No, suspension is stock.I mean i can feel vibration in the pedal, feel it in the steering wheel and the brake pedal.Feels like a slight wobble at low speeds and vibration at highway speeds.
Well i think the wobble may just have been the brakes, seems gone since i changed the pads. I jacked it up, no play in the wheels, nothing feels loose in the steering anywhere. Maybe i just need an alignment. Think i am going to change the steering rack bushings as well.
Good idea on the bushings, its possible your stock ones are gummed out anyway (mine were by 20k miles). It couldnt hurt anyway, and you will definately feel the improvement everyone "raves" about.
I am having the same problem with my bushings Scot from SOG said that mine were about shot, so I am going to go ahead and replace them. But my car has a bad vibration so I changed my front pads and rotors, still same problem with vibration. Could this be a result of bad bushings?
I have a Whiteline Steering Rack Bushing I can sell you if you want it. New, Never been used. Still in orginal unopened package. $30
at low speeds i thought it should be viberating but i could be wrong, since when idle my wcar vibes like shyt maybe because of the turbo idleing everything in car shakes like mr.shakey pants but at high speeds no shakes but all power
I just changed my bushings w/ whiteline and i couldnt be happier. Got them for 18 bucks and the install took 20 minutes
