I think there are a few guys that might be interested in bikes so ill post this here to. Since the DRZ that I currently have is only fast enough to break my wrist i think i need something faster, so the drz is for sale. Now the new project I'm going to build a 1999 Honda CR250 Aluminum frame with a 500cc two stroke motor. For those that arent moto savy the 500cc two stroke is the bad boy of two stroke motors, it makes about 65 hp from the factory and in race trim they can make up to 100hp. I'm hoping to get around 70-75hp out of mine. What you end up getting is a low weight high hp beast of a motard. Ill post pics as the parts show up Headed to the shop tomorrow, Motor, Frame, shock linkage have all arrived. The motor mounts and clutch covers should be here this week. I'll be ordering the parts for the wheels tomorrow, I'll be building them myself.
I used to race a KX500 in the desert. A 500 2-stroke will make a man out of you, especially on the asphalt... Good luck to you!
That is probably the worst video ever made of a CR500.... I can wheelie on a flat road! My problem with this plan is 2-strokes will rev out and not back into corners. It's like a V-tiwn vs. an inline. I know the power is there, but I don't think it'll make the best supermoto. You need that torque. A CRF450 will blow a CR500 out of the water... Actually, a race four-stroke 450 is just about the baddest thing for a SM. I'm just sayin'... I think the 510 would be a better idea.

That should be called superetarded with that 2-stroke 500CC motor. Matt, you are going to hurt yourself in a bad way when that power curve comes up on that two stroke bike.
Yet another thing to consider; after listening to a kid on a 50cc two-stroke SM all day today, I'd like to point out the noise will not be bearable. You'll hate it and cops will come from miles around. Just keep your DRZ and get the 436 kit! It'll pull 3 gear wheelies!
Woot frame showed up today, and ive got to pick up the engine jig at the posy office in the morning. Motor is on its way from Floridia.... Ill shoot some pics tomorrow. Ive got to weld the mounts on and then Im sending the frame to be anodized
Or you could put a fmf spark arrestor on your cr for about $180 to make it quiet and do 5th gear wheelies on your it all day...:naughty:
actually I've been waiting on a swingarm pivot bolt to show up and it came yesterday, I'm going to try and work on it some more next week, I have everything except plastic and wheels
I'm going to shoot some pictures tomorrow out in the sun. The motor is mounted and the swingarm and forks are on, Ill be getting rid of the DRZ shortly so I want to get this thing together so that I can have something to play with.
