Meth Injection

Can someone explain to me how meth injection works? I'm familiar with NOS of corse, is it pretty much the same thing? Safer, more dangerous? I want to know any and all info you can cram into my head .

My basic understanding is that the methanol adds more fuel element to the air fuel ratio. This allows you to bump up the boost and timing since the added fuel will fight off detonation.

NOS adds oxygen to the mixture which adds a lot of power but needs more fueling to be run safely.

 

Methanol ups the octane rating of the fuel being injected into the cumbustion chamber. At the same time it dramtically cools off the intake temperatures. Doing so allows you to run more boost and up the timing significantly. My car HATED timing until I went meth inj and then it LOVED it. There is still a little more timing advance I can get but I am pretty much at the limits of my tranny and close to the limits of the engine. It is much more safer than NOS and more reliable and cheaper as well as long as you don't run out while WOT and you are tuned for it.

Also meth inj cleans out the engine at the same time. Research shows meth inj'ed cars had much cleaner valves, combustion chambers, and exhaust ports due to less carbon build up.
